Switch Pro controller not working properly

When I use my Nintendo Switch pro controller for the game, it navigates the menus just fine. The issue comes when I try to do anything else. For some reason, I cannot move around, move the camera, use weapons, pick up items, place/remove portals, etc.. If you know how I can fix this, please tell me.

I was able to connect the controller to Steam, and it works just fine. (I tested it out in big picture mode)

How do you connect the pro controller to the game itself, or do I have to connect it to steam? I'm not entirely sure how to connect it

You need to set the controller up in Steam for it to work, with the Switch Pro config. Steam > Settings > Controller. The in Splitgate make sure you switch to controller from Keyboard and Mouse in Settings > Gameplay > Input Device.

Unfortunately in Splitgate, the mapping still uses a Xbox style layout.
