Win64-shipping.exe-System Error on start up

Hey guys, so ever since I downloaded the game whenever I launch it I get the above titles message along with :

The program can't start because
api-ms-win-downlevel-kernel32-l2-1-0.dll is missing from your computer.
Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

So I've done all the basics; re downloaded the game, went to the place to get the file and even put it where it was supposed to go along with in the splitgate folder but still nothing. Whenever I launch the game and click OK on this message however it does load up the game but randomly if I'm loading into a game it will crash OR I've had it happen once where I think it crashed my graphics card.

I'm sort of stumped on what to do and the only other post about this was on a Reddit thread with no replies. Any help would be appreciated since I'm falling in love with this game.

Same boat. But I click ok and the game starts. But yeah, the error it's there always.

Copy it from C:\Windows\System32\CompatTel into \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Splitgate\PortalWars\Binaries\Win64

I guess you are on Windows 7 64 bit as well

Thank you for that. It worked.

I've been getting this error everytime I launched the game, since the first time I played. I tried to look around a bit for a solution without luck and stopped looking because I was still able to play the game. Not too annoying, but annoying nonetheless.

It also fixed the game launching in the background, behind everything (Steam launcher, Friends List, Steam Chat, Taskbar...).
