Does this game have bots?

That's the thing i'm trying to understand, if i'm playing against bots on very easy or i am destroying new players... I've played like 7 matches to try out the game, and i was pulling 30 kills in some of the matches, sometimes doing better than the entire enemy team stacked together and doing over half the points on my team.

As far as i know, there is a profile icon that shows console players, it has a controller in the icon, so those are likely crossplay players, i played a match with my nephew and he had that profile icon automatically and i've seen like 4 players in total with that image. Like one third of the profiles were steam question marks profile pics, for the most part these ones felt like true players. Then the other profiles were all random with simple/basic avatars and stuff like that that are often used by fake profiles.

I think the only lead i have on figuring out if the player is a bot or not is via the name. Simplified name starting with a capital letter, always have a simple avatar image like an animal, person or something like that. Or when i see players sprinting in the same pattern around the map, those are mostly bots because they follow the same pattern when sprinting to engage and end up dead. I notice this "sprinting" thing mostly in shotty sniper matches, i camp in the middle of the map and see that occur often.

Usually only for a the first few matches from the start of your account, once you play for 20 games or so, then you get matched with people often.

Think of it as a Hidden rank that forces you to play with bots in some modes to reduce Q times. When you start playing the game, do you want to wait 5 minutes to play 1 match or wait 3 seconds?

It seems random honestly. I would dare say near half of the "players" i saw were bots or questionably bots, while the other half were actual players. Observing how characters move, names/avatars, etc.

Waiting is not an issue for me. I multitask stuff all the time, i can do that just fine while game is seeking people.

Making me play against bots is acceptable for the first 3 matches, after that, i want players, not bots... I remember playing paladins on ps4 last year and the samething happened, i was literally curb stomping the enemy team without much effort, but the bots there were more than obvious. In here, they are in disguise for some reason.

Also if matchmaking is an issue for this game, perhaps reduce the filtering options to less options and that will force people to get closer. There are way too many options, removing them is bad, so i think they should instead group options in 3 simple groups.

Let me guess, you are talking about their overall gaming skill?

Because the 4 console players i saw, they were actually players. One of them being my nephew i invited in and then noticed the trend with that profile picture. He was on xbox, his profile picture on xbox was from Halo, inside this game it was the "controller" profile picture. Another console player i saw, he had his mic on all the time, console players are often like this. Either too lazy or too stupid to mute their mics.

For me, steam avatars only show up as "?", I haven't once seen a steam avatar that wasn't from the friend I'm playing with. So every single player that doesn't have a "?" avatar or a console play avatar is a bot. Every time a player leaves, he's replaced with a bot and not another player. Most 4vs4 games have 1 bot per team on average I've noticed. It's almost impossible to play a round without a bot being involved.

You can really tell when a player is a bot, because when you shoot a bot in the back there is a 100% chance they will stop what they're doing, turn around and start walking directly at you firing ignoring all cover etc, they have no awareness of team strategy and just waltz in to feed deaths, and sometimes they get stuck standing in corners or walking back and forth in one room, on maps they don't work well on

IIRC, the first 10 or so games are against bots to rank you/ pick out common cheating methods. Then you'll get placed against people. There's also bots to round out teams if not enough people are playing that mode or someone drops mid-game.

Thats just not true, this is why people were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and got our game modes removed.
