Another pretty bad example for a quick cashgrab early access title RIP
Feels bad for another Sci-fi survival loss!
What are you on about? Can you back up your claims? That is not even remotely true.
We made a game, raised money to keep the development going and realised too late that the scope of the project was too big for us and failed to deliver on our promises.
It is quite sad actually.
All of the money we raised has been invested into assets, programming and taxes.
We tried our best but we failed. Time to move on.
Your behaviour is pitiful and you should seriously reconsider how you spent your time.
'cashgrab'
I wish.
Reality is a bit dull: Burnout combined with loss of funds resulted in fewer updates after the release.
I don't want any sympathy, we should have seen this coming. One coder was not enough for a project of this size.
But we never made any game before so we had no idea what we got ourself into.
Sorry for the disappointment, we never wanted this to end like it did.
Yes, you will still be able to bring your own server online to play with friends or play in singleplayer.
The biggest cost was development. Servers were given to us by nitrado but that deal is running out today. Hosting our own servers would cost as much or more as the game brings in every month.
It is not the Customers fault, that the Developer overextended this hard and I am sure he paid himself a nice Salary each Month with your Money anyways.
Even more, he must have known, that he was running out of Money for Months and didn´t decide to say anything about it, that is just not acceptable.
The EU Consumer Rights state the following:
"Under EU rules, a trader must repair, replace, reduce the price or give you a refund if goods you bought turn out to be faulty or do not look or work as advertised."
Pantropy has been working as advertised on our steam shop site but feel free to use steam's liberal refund policy to refund pantropy.
What even is a nice salary? I as the coder was the only one who got a salary that paid for my living expenses, thats how every buisness on this world works. A salary that was way below the average salary in this domain.
We literally posted on the 15th october 2019 that we had problems funding the development.
Okay, so how are you gonna provide Online-PvP, or any Multiplayer at all without your Game on Steam and any Servers for it? Doesn´t work, does it?
So your Game is clearly not working as advertised (despite all the massive Bugs making it nearly unplayable evry time I tried and I gave you over a Year of Patience).
You are still able to play pantropy in 'pvp' by running your own server or play pantropy 'pve' in singleplayer. The game remains functional but can no longer be bought.
So I am supposed to buy a Server to host your Game, just to be able to really play your Game? lol, sure. Good luck with that.
For the sake of the users who do not own your game right now, clarify if you have any intention of running a sale before the removal (which doesn't work well if you already asked Valve to initiate the removal), or to reduce the game's base price by say 30% or 50% (matching the previous discounts in 2021). That will help interested parties decide if they want to pay the current full price to own your game, or if they're interested at whatever sale price you would offer.
Not only will that form of clarity get you some extra sales, it's surely also less stressful than responding to insults and allegations.
(I bought the game when it was 50% off last year, so for me this isn't practically relevant, but at least any (removed) game collectors who haven't bought your title are frantically hammering F5 to see if you say anything about a discount price before removal.)
