Perspective fix? Hear me out... I adore this game
(TLDR at bottom)

As a huge fan of the first hammerwatch, i want to say that heroes is everything i loved about the first and more! Theres just one issue that ruins it all for me. Which is a shame, i want to love this game so bad.
They tried this weird mesh of 2d + 3d that just.... doesnt work well. The perspective takes a hit where the environment becomes a factor in your characters safety, and again in the way it forces you to change how you want to play.
I am not one who will shy away from a challenge, in fact i want to praise this game on its rougelike approach! The difficulty makes the stakes high yet the rewards worth it, death lingering around every corner. You can swallow hordes with a fireball, or crush them with a comet of ice, make hundreds of them meet their gods through steel! Yet one mistake... and your godly might will crumble beneath you!
But what really breaks me away from the brilliance of this game, is when a projectile comes out of the wall and kills me. I just defeated a horde of bugs that came from the depths of sewers, lobbing ice bolts, bug juice everywhere, to "oh now the wall that i thought i could use as cover is actually a weird 3d rendering and not actually the arrow stopping force i thought it to be.."
This forced perspective is understood, but not in the way that is beneficial. trust me, i love the old school FF Tactics take on things, but i felt it suited the purpose for that game.

TLDR; Is there a fix for the 2D + 3D perspective? iykyk

I know this thread is a bit older by now, but considering the relative inactivity of this forum I figure I'll chime in to say that I know what you mean. While it doesn't detract from my enjoyment, it can be extremely jarring at times to figure out in the heat of battle which type of "wall" is merely visual and which will stop projectiles or break line of sight.

If I'm in doubt, I always assume a wall I'm uncertain about is not going to stop enemy projectiles just to be safe. I hear you though.
