Keep disconnecting when playing multiplayer
After purchasing all the DLCs, I disconnect every time within 1 hour or 2 when playing with someone else.

Before, when playing vanilla, this never happened. Very annoying. Used to love this game but these problems are destroying the experience. We just spent a lot of time preparing the fountain + drinks + items, etc. to do a gold run, and I literally disconnect 5 seconds into the first level.

Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Any solutions that do not involve installing mods?

What issues have been tried to fix it?

I posted this in another question but here are my suggestions:

1. Re-install and verify the game files once you've re-installed the game (by extension restart steam, unsure if that could help) NOTE: Make sure you've got the characters saved onto the cloud.

2. Try using every connection method possible (if you used steam invites, try the server list or vice versa)

I've found success also having the person with the worst connection be the host.

There's a new build up on the public_testing branch (b107) which should hopefully help fix a lot of the issues, it includes a change where multiplayer will run over steam, when steam users are playing together.

here are the notes from discord:

We've updated the engine with updates done for Hammerwatch 2, this will hopefully
make the multiplayer more stable, reduce crashes, and improve performance.

* Multiplayer now runs over Steam when two or more Steam users play together
* Set bonus descriptions are now more consistent across sets
* "Not your lucky day" now works as expected
* Fixed a fringe case where resistance bonuses wouldn't show correctly on the character sheet
* Splitshot Ballista now appears in bestiary
* Getting pushed outside the bounds in Battlements should now teleport you back to the start of the level
* Some visual minimap fixes
* Improved stability
* Improved performance

Please back up saves before trying this version.
There is no Linux build yet for this first test.

Get the reconnect mod, thats what me and my friends needed for group sessions. it allows you to reconnect and still have your items even.

Failed to join lobby
My friends and I have been playing the game for awhile now.
As of last week we are constantly getting the Failed to join lobby on each other, and tonight we are not able to join anyone's game at all.
We don't use ant mods.

Is there any help out there with this?

In this built, its is not possible to enter the last floor ( after vlad ) without everyone's game crashing and the run is forfeit.

Yes, this is happening to some players.

If you check the pinned topic I made about the branch you'll see that it had an update recently to try and help work out what might be causing the crashes.

Basically, if you encounter this, and there is a crash file generated at the point it crashes (an mdmp file in the game folder) it would be good if that could be posted in the bugs channel of the discord server.

We sent all 4 of them toward your devs on discord maybe, 2-3 days ago. The crash files and the logs. Hopefully that will help. we are desperate for some coop games :)

there was an update to the branch yesterday which hopefully fixed the main one people were encountering, thanks for sending the crash reports on discord, really helps!

would be great to know if you run into any issues on the updated (public_testing) build :)

Yes we are using it. We are sending more logs on discord today as we get new crashes in act 3.
