Paladin and blessings? How should they even be built for tank?
Paladin feels kind of awkward to me with it's kit now that lay on hands is an active ground buff. It still heals, it's good that it's finally a % heal, which was what lay on hands needed before. Yet it's weird cause you can't really use it when you need to help tank since its cooldown is double the timer of the actual duration (I don't have it maxed out, just one level off).

With old lay on hands I ran a reflect damage build with double mana regeneration, and always starting with more regen, so enemies would literally just kill themselves on me when it came to NG~+2. Juggernaut also made this build better since you could just run into enemies and deal damage.

How do you build this class NOW? Going path of the defender, mana regen, and reflect damage is only good for the first two blessings. Paladin doesn't need the other available third blessing, since it really doesn't need 25% less mana cost due to it's skills not really costing much to upkeep. If you start with a greater sphere of regen you would never run into mana problems, even with the old lay on hands.

In another scenario, you could go path of the defender, double health regen, and life steal, but then you run into the mana issues. Also, double health regen isn't even that good as far as i've seen. You're also better off getting mana regen than you are getting passive lifesteal. You'll GET passive lifesteal anyway if you pick up a bloodthirst ring or buy one. Double Health regen would -actually- be good if it was health from ALL sources. Then the heal ability would actually make up for it.

That's just if you wanted to go pure tank. With the other trees path of the warrior's best outcome would be pure damage, so everything on the left. With path of the magician, the only difference for me would be the actual first blessing, i'd just go mana regen and reflect anyway. I'd go crit if i could because it'd make whirlwind way better ESPECIALLY with the flames of devotion being a thing.

So any thoughts on how to build this class? Any ideas?

I actually did warrior but ended up with life steal, so I didn't do all left and I am doing pretty good and having fun with that build. I just use Dash to speed through the level so Paladin as is doesn't use much mana and his abilities don't cost much mana to use and have longer cooldowns anyways. That's my justification for going warrior, because paladin needs more primary attack power since his abilities have long cooldowns, no aoe, and you can primary while using the spin. That and what, 3 of his passives boost primary so you should be more primary spamming than any other class.

To each their own and whatever fits your playstyle. I have fun with the build I chose and I don't die and kill pretty easily, so that's all that matters
