Unplayable due to FPS issues and camera stutter
I have 4770k and R290X. Running Windows 8.1 x64. 60hz monitor.
Hammerwatch 1 is perfectly playable without any issues.
Heroes of Hammerwatch: unplayable.

I try the following:
- Disable all graphics settings that could increase the load.
- Disable Vsync.
- Set FPS limit to 60 fps.
What I see: 55-57 FPS. in both OGL and DX.

I try any of the following in all possible combinations:
- Set FPS limit to 120 or higher.
- Enable Vsync.
- Set resolution to lower than 1920x1080.
- Set mode to Fullscreen or Borderless.
What I see in all cases: camera movement issues. Either with stutter or with tearing. In both OGL and DX.

The very same problem bugs me in Serious Sam's Bogus Detour.

Please, devs, I'm willing to help you with testing. I'd like this to get fixed.

Try getting a windows 7. Windows 8.1 is kind of..it's not that good for gaming.

My graphics card is a potato and so is my pc. Most my game settings are usually set to low, but in this game I can have everything maxed out and capped at 60 fps.

Potato GPU - Msi GeForce GT 730 (2 gb, about 600-800 cuda cores)
Win 7, service pack 1
8 gigs of RAM
60 hz monitor

It's strange that your fps drops with your 2013 year gpu.

Negative. On practice, 8.1 = 7 minus Aero. I don't have problems with other games, or problems with other games originate from somewhere else and not depend on OS.

It doesn't drop. There is something wrong with frame limiter. When I set limit to 120, it gets capped at 107-112 or so. Max fps I got in this game is ~800, but that doesn't fix camera stutter and tearing.

I get screen tearing even with 200 fps+ and vsync enabled, best thing to do, disable fullscreen (don't do borderless, it doesn't seem to quite work) and set it to windowed with your native resolution, it goes borderless anyway, haven't had any screen tearing at all.

Already tried everything including this. If there is no tearing, there is noticeable stuttering during camera movement.

You could try contacting devs on discord as here in steam is no "bugs/ suggestions" thread.

I have the same issue screen shaking so annoying

This bugged the crap out of me when I frst bought the game. I almost refunded it.

However, it ended up being something I barely noticed when I was actually down (up?) in the dungeons, fighting. Since for me, it was primarily an issue when traveling not in a straight line, it turns out, many of the dugneons and rooms are straight lines, so it was barely an issue at all.

If you've been playing with a gamepad, this would also cause problems, as you are less likely to be moving perfectly straight, and more likely to see this weird issue.

I would recommend mouse & keyboard, even though for hammerwatch 1, controller was much preferred. This game seems very well suited for kb & mouse.

Have you thought about lowering Screen Shake in Options -> Game?

Also I use keyboard and mouse so I only really go in cardinal directions, maybe that's why I've never seen this issue.

Screen stutter in the form of "Waves" when you move diagonaly comes from vertical synchronisation problems.
Aside and vsync and fullscreen the only things that have a effect is if you have gsync/freensync try changing these settings.
There are three things you either have to live with the waves or with a big or little stutter. Go down in the dungeon and see what you can play with, I found that for me it´s not a problem unless I am in town.
I play with Gsync disabled, fullscreen, first client (not the dx alternative) and vsync enabled. I wouldn´t describe it as smooth but its ok.

Having the same problem described here. No options solve it; either screen tearing or the jerky,w wavy screen stuttering effect. Both are distracting enough to render the game unplayable to me. Would love to see a fix sometime.
