where are my items?
I keep picking up items on my runs but I can't see them anywhere? Where do I have to look to see the items I picked up?

press C to open your character sheet, and look on the right.

Items also don't carry over between runs, so if you're looking for them after you die, they're already gone.

so the items I get during runs only apply during the runs? And they disappear when I die?

Yes, the items you get are only for the current run, when you go back to town by either dying or completing it (defeating the end boss). You lose all items.

Well thats the biggest BS I've seen on 2020. Thanks for explaining tho I was going crazy cuz I always picked up like 30 items and I never saw any of them:servbotunhappy:

There's a way of crafting guaranteed items to bring into runs with you, but you need to find something in the dungeon to do it. Also by upgrading your town you can buy a randomized set of items from the shopkeeper for each run.

The game is a roguelite (kind of like a roguelike). It's a genre of game where you typically rank/level-up your skills, but items are temporary. It's usually a dungeon crawler where you become stronger overtime getting further each time incrementally until you're strong enough to beat all bosses in 1 run.

So you bought a game without looking up any information about it and you blame the game for being roguelite?

Yeah, totally logical.

Pretty sure it's you, run exclusive items that disappear on death is a staple in roguelites. Typically roguelites have temporary and permanent upgrades, for this game temporary are stuff that disappear on death, like items you obtain during a run, and permanent is stuff like your skills on your character, upgrades to stats made in your town, and chapel upgrades that is available from the chapel that you have to unlock first.

I'm not gonna say you're dumb for not knowing this, that's totally reasonable for someone new to this genre, but don't call it BS when it's not the fault of the game. It's like getting mad at Pacman because you weren't aware you have to start over when you run out of lives.

What ^ he said.

The other guy didn't really insult either, just a bit smarmy about being illogical.

This is 100% standard design for this type of genre though. It's why shops are important to pick the item bonuses most important to your character, and gambler (random spawn in dungeon) for rerolling on one that doesn't help you.

There's a lot to upgrade that's persistent. A LOT A LOT.

I just asked a question? I don't reallt play rougelite or whatever and all I did was asking a question I don't understand what you people are trying to prove by insulting. Also I didn't even call it BS I just asked a question about something I didn't know but nowadays on the internet asking a question is illegal I guess.

It's right there. You didn't do anything bad by asking a question, that much is fine, but then calling it BS shows that you are putting the blame of you not knowing something on the game. Literally no one insulted you for asking a question.

No one insulted you, but you are a moron, and should read more into something before buying it. Good life lesson for you. Hopefully improve your decision making over the next 1-60 years depending how long you can survive.
