How do I enable mods?
1. Click the "Profiles" button in the main menu. (It's the button left of the Singleplayer button)

2. Click "Clone this profile" so that you have a secondary profile to use for modding. (Note: Enabling mods on a profile disables achievements for that profile!)

3. Click the "Change mods" button (the button with the cog) for the secondary profile. (You might be asked whether you're sure you want to continue adding mods, click Yes.)

4. Select the mods you want to use and click OK. Mods are now enabled on that profile!

Have fun!

A friend accidentally enabled mods on their main profile. Is there a way to disable that, returning the profile to its pristine state? He was simply making an account compatible with my Necromancer mod hosted game... .

No, it warns you when you enable mods. For the future you should always clone your profile and mod the copy.

He created a new profile and worked his way back up to and beyond where he was. :) Clone Yes...

When I was trying the Necromancer mod, you had to enable the mod, start in town, and then speak to a new townsperson to convert your current character into said Necromancer. Not ideal, but... .

Yep, that's currently the only way custom classes work. We've been looking into making that better though..

They have to be using the same mods, as well as be using their own modded profiles. That is, a stock Hammerwatcher cannot join a modded Hammerwatcher.

Yes but what if you disable the mod and your friend creates a lobby while ticking the 'allow modded profiles to join', me and a friend have tried this and it never worked, although it was some time ago, was the feature disabled or is the problem just a bug?

What do you mean "it never worked"? Do you see the server in the serverlist? If you do, is the server button enabled or disabled? If it's disabled, do you see a tooltip on it? If it's enabled, what happens when you try joining it? Is there any error? Does it timeout? Does it not do anything?

is there a way to have cheats enabled in multiplayer?
DenimDan97 Aug 26, 2021 @ 4:41pm
I did everything as instructed but do not see any mods

It'd be nice if mods were character exclusive perhaps - or is that what the profiles are for?
e.g. a whole new local guild that does not affect the other characters in any way?
