Act lV: Opening Books VS. Leaving Them Closed

So as most people who played the game long enough know, in Act 4 you can encounter all 4 of the ritual books throughout the floors towards the boss at the end which you end up seeing again. On these floors, they appear to be indicated as a big red exclamation point and you have the option to open them. That being said, is there a difference between opening them or leaving them closed? I've both opened the books and left them closed through multiple playthroughs yet the boss fight doesn't seem to change in the least bit. Does anyone know if there is a difference at all whether or not you open the ritual books or leave them closed?

All the books do is tell you the order in which you must do the side rooms. If you didn't read them you would have to find the order by trial and error.

And this is good 'cause you STILL get the xp for monsters, so you like can stay here for week and farm the xp opening the same book over and over.

oh i must have gotten lucky the first time i didnt pay attention to the order and i was wonderoing what they did so on the second time i thought may it summons a secret boss if you do them in order lol
