Character deleted, town reset, classes locked??
So far I have been overly impressed with this game. It has won 70 HRs of my time thus far. Now, I recently went to join a game and noticed my Level 23 Thief was not there. I thought, no big deal! I'll make a new one, I didn't much care for his name anyway. Upon going to create a new thief, I noticed the thief, wizard and priest were all locked. Therefore, I entered into a game with my Paladin and noticed that my entire town had been reset. I had every upgrade unlocked for the town already and was to the point of only needing ore to sell for gold to upgrade new characters.
I would like to know if my progress can and will be restored.:steamfacepalm:

I haven't had that problem yet. Maybe you somehow deleted your safe folder?

This thread explains how to do a hard reset on purpose..maybe that happened accidentally.

All of my other characters are fine. I have one of each class. I have a Priest at Level 32 on NG+++. I reported it in the bug-report Discord chat and literally no one responded to my report. I thought this game had better support tbh. Sad...I'm getting close to uninstalling it just for lack of support.

As someone asked, is your steam cloud on or off?

Like I stated previously, ALL of my other characters are fine. Just the one character has vanished, the town reset and all other classes locked. Thus far, there REALLY is "bad support" as you put it. As in *no support* at all as of yet. And the cloud sync was never disabled. Just to reiterate, all of my other characters are fine. No support as of yet.

If you look threw out the forum you are not the first that it happened, it happended to me also, and it really pissed / pisses me off. Mine wasn't as high level, a thief level around 15 but the town and achievements is really terrible. My paladin is at -13 star because of that... Anyway I just started rebuilding... seems like it going to take a while...
It is indeed a problem that has happened to a decent chunk of people. Myself included. Nothing to do with user error. When it happened to me, my game crashed and the character I had been playing on was deleted and all town progress deleted.

UPDATE: Still no support as of yet nor any indication on a fix for this error. Started rebuilding; at this point have unlocked all classes(again), Thief is now Lv1and have upgraded the town to T5.

I do not want to give too much credit to the developers, but claiming bad support because you are not getting a reply during the weekend, right after a major patch was launched from a very small development team is pretty wild.
It looks like this is one of those really nasty bugs, hard to track down or reproduce, and a pain for the games' reputation.

Best suggestion moving forward would be to do manual backups of you save files every couple of days or after major unlocks. It is a pain but really not that hard or time-consuming to do.


Looks like you did already move past the hope of getting your progress back through some developer magic, and rightfully so.
I myself would be furious as hell if my progression was wiped, but slightly more relaxed when it comes to response time.


If they do not respond at all (within one/two weeks) though that would be extremely bad customer support.

Just FYI; this post and my attempt to reach out on Discord started on Mar 24, 2018. Which if you didn't know, was a Tuesday. Not the weekend. The last post was just an update as to lack of support, which is still ongoing.

it seems this game is missing a restorig save file :/ , most of these rpg games have 2 save files , so in case 1 gets corrupted you can recover it from the other one

I think we've added a save backup system for these kinds of cases with the last update. Has this happened to anyone since then?

Yes, it's happened to me. I lost my level 23 wizard and my town progress. I had almost completely maxed the whole town out. Is there any way you can restore my character and my town?

Also for some reason my lvl 25 sorceror has negative 14 (-14) stars right now. What happened, and can you please help me fix my game?

the stars is because your guild resetted also

Just wanted to comment on your problem and mine. Since posting and the drinks update, it only took me a few hours to get my town progress back. Achievements are another story. But, good luck and have fun!
