XP lose removal idea/fix
I know the XP lose being removed has upset some people so I have a suggestion that might work and balance things a bit for people.

How about add another purchase thing like taxes and reduces the amount of XP lost. Have it start at 100% of gained that run and have it drop to 50% after 5 upgrades.

That way you still can get XP but it won't be a much. I feel that would make it feel better to play for both groups who want it and those who don't.

I know I would just not level it that way I get the challenge of having to be careful not to lose it and the people who don't want to lose XP can level it.

Hope devs read this as I think it's a good balance

The whole point in this game is the grind that's what leveling rougelikes are. If all it costs to remove the penalty is ore it's not bad the issue with just turning it off whenever you want is it makes hosting with random people bad. Because you get unskilled people who are just high level or you join a game that has that turned on and it just out right makes it easier.

I think having the option to have it and have it scaling adds more fun and more to work towards. Rite now all I can use ore for is turning into gold so more to spend it on is always welcome

I like the concept, but as i already said, this developers changes on the original game, put me in alert to buy new games, this volatile after launch its not a good think.
I buy a game, and sudently they change my hero in a impactant factor. Not a rebalance of damage, hp, mp, that its a minor change....they change how i feel the game, thats it.

Yea I have to agree with you underlaw that change pretty much changes how the game plays completely when the game is all about the grind. That's y I wanted to give them an option because currently they have made a change that changed the way the game played entirely because I no longer see any risk in running into a room if I die do it again and again until I level. Before I had to play smarter. That's just how I feel and the three people I play with

Here its the same feelings, i buy this game with my brother we are 30 years old, and like old school games, like contra, battletoads, gauntlet, etc, i get this game becouse its fun to try/die, try again and die together. With no xp loss, its just let me go offline, make 10 runs to get xp, than i will powerlevel you. I never play game on easy, just on hardest mode, or even on hardcore permadeath, its my taste. When i buy this game, its a play smart game, now its a nothing like it.

Sounds quite dumb, or am i actualy stupid? When it starts at 100% when you just bought the game, you will never be able to level up, until you got some of the XP lose removed by the upgrade.

Just make it an option, wether you want exp loss on death or not.
Very simple solution that makes both sides happy.
This is the best and easiert solution.

And i think this is the bulk of consumers of this kind of game, we, and only us make game industry what they are, we imortalized games like contra, battletoads. I'm worried the direction of game industry now, with tutorial all times, easy games, mocking my inteligence my endurace.
Game nowdays just a few can make it to imortalize a franchise, and all have in commom, the constancy in design. see as by yourself, i warned the bioware about mass effect 3 endings, i warned blizzard about diablo 3, now they franchise is dead. What happened? They change the core design of the game!
I'm trying make point that the game industry emerges from some foundations, thats no one now are looking, thats why so few new games make to the path to imortal. Look Red project!!! They made witcher one, indie almost, blood, violence, vile atmosphere, nudes. They dont care about what people want, they make a game they want to play. Witcher 2, same thing, nudes, blood, violence, etc....and i pre order witcher 3 expecting same thing...and will pre order any product they made becouse i belive that they show us what they want to be played.

No not at all you only lose the XP gained between full levels so if you level you keep that amount also I said 100% but I should be clear back to what it was before 50% scaling down to 25%.

Making an option for no xp lose is just lazy. It's meant to be a grind game so adding the option to turn off grinding is silly unless it also disables all forms of achievements too
Like other cheats

It also only makes people happy assuming you do not include open coop because having a person jump into a game that plays easy mode for levels means they are strong without necessarily having basic mechanics so this is ruined for everyone else if you want to play a game without a grind play something different. This game was released with that kind of grind so that's what I paid for. Removing it means I am not getting the game I paid for and was advertised.

This changed a core part of the game play to make it dumb simple. I have had no issue clearing the game without needing this removed so if you cannot do it without XP lose than get better learn to play stop making games easier for the unskilled players when people who like the grind and challenge are having to suffer

Keep the removal of EXP loss on death, just play NG+ if you want to grind more.

Forcing players to grind longer to reach a basic milestone is also lazy on the developer's part. Especially if they don't impose any special mechanics with Death EXP like Dark Soul's ability to retrieve lost souls.

Dark souls you lost 100% xp on death, and cant get back... But if you already die, its pretty sure you will die again.
And play NG+ for what? Already beat a game with no skills so ever, i will just need more time to get xp, lv up, go back, and beat a new game plus, and so over, over again.
With xp loss you only will beat game if are good player, and not a player that only have time.
I dont know why people dont like a punishement as a core mechanics....i cant figure out, its like a plataform game with infinity lifes, you just need to keep playng to beat a game.
Back in my time, you have some chances to beat a game, and beat a game means that you can do it by skills not otherwise.
" Oh look i beat kid chamaleon"
" Mah entire world do it"
" Oh look i beat contra"
"Man any one do that"
" Woa lets play Greendog?"
" whats for?"
We still 20 years old games, and consume old style games, becouse ther are OLD STYLE GAMES!
I Dont buy a game with a tutorial, a save state, anything near a modern discartable game.
