The ranged damage isn't all that great. You'll be doing such a low damage it won't kill much in the game other than bats. It's only really good for aggro and while you shoot decently fast it's only when you stand still.
Also arrows that pierce enemies does a lot less damage than normal arrows.
Starting to level priest, I can already see how Smite can tear through mobs better than arrows, despite the range disadvantage.
Worse, what a Paladin can do at level 1 the ranger struggles with at level 6 or so. At level 8 any character outshines a level 15 ranger and does so at much greater speed.
I like the caracter. It was my main in the first Hammerwatch. In that game his benfit was able to move and shoot was amazing. In this game he is actually slower to dish out damage while moving than any of the other classes and is middling defensively and cant heal himself and is a range based character with three skills only relevant when enemies are close.
Ranger is a liability rn for lategame
Is the spinning skill modified by Primary Attack buffs of Skill Attacks ones?
But you can easily target Elites\Sorcerers and other Archers. Archers is quite annoying to deal with wizzards and sorcs, but it's kill all you can with Ranger.
Skill Attack. My primary does way more damage than the spin attack and it's actually convinced me to remake my ranger cause the skill sucks so much balls in the later stages.
