Now death affects the entire team in that you now either play at a serious risk of having a sudden and immediate wipe, or you're down a player because nobody wants to shoulder that burden.
At the VERY least let downing a boss clear your soul links.
I do think it doesn't work well in pubs due to the unknowns and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ players, but don't play with pubs and get some friends ya loser.
The soul link system also makes new character boosting less likely to pay off - no high level character needs to be tying themselves to a toon with a much lower health pool and armour made of tissue paper.
This would be a great idea! That, or simply removing the soul link and having a one-time revival that doesn't negatively affect both players... If you die once, accidents happen and you can be revived - if you die twice, gutted, you're kicked out to spectator mode or town and your team mate goes on without you.
