Soul link
When you revive someone in Multiplayer, is there any way to clear a soul link? It kind of incentivizes people to ignore fallen allies.

I bet it's to prevent abusing resurrects. Don't think there will be any way to do so.

Seeing as the only way your teammates resurrect is by being revived, you can't really ignore them unless you plan on playing solo the rest of the way.

That would kind of break the game. The best part of the Soul Link mechanic is that there can only be four total deaths, but you're rarely in a situation where you don't have everyone playing. Changes to the mechanic would break one of those things.

the soul linking is a pretty poor mechanic though. You're actually better off not resurrecting a teammate due it it, and that's exactly what people are going to do. if you die? Oh ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well, you're staying deda. too bad, shouldn't have died. What was wrong with the ankh system? buy an ankh before you head out, or go in without one and try to find more. It encouraged teamwork to ensure everyone was playing wel because it affected the entire team.

Now death affects the entire team in that you now either play at a serious risk of having a sudden and immediate wipe, or you're down a player because nobody wants to shoulder that burden.

At the VERY least let downing a boss clear your soul links.
Personally I think the system is fantastic, but I don't play with pubs. If you're playing with friends it incentivizes smart play and teamwork. We usually have a rotation of ranged characters then the tank which allows us to continually push further. We also make fun of each other if you die to stupid ♥♥♥♥, so git gud.

I do think it doesn't work well in pubs due to the unknowns and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ players, but don't play with pubs and get some friends ya loser.

I'd certainly like to see the possibility for a boss downing to clear soul links as a middle ground between having to buy an item for a second chance like the Ankh or risking being left for the rats in a public game.

The soul link system also makes new character boosting less likely to pay off - no high level character needs to be tying themselves to a toon with a much lower health pool and armour made of tissue paper.

I've found the soul link to be extremely annoying at the best of times... If there were some way to remove the effect then it wouldn't be so bad...

This would be a great idea! That, or simply removing the soul link and having a one-time revival that doesn't negatively affect both players... If you die once, accidents happen and you can be revived - if you die twice, gutted, you're kicked out to spectator mode or town and your team mate goes on without you.
