Miners delight

So I have been meaning to check this for a while, but while this is probably obvious, I wanted to put this out there. You are taxed on your winnings in the arena. However you also do benefit from drinks such as miner's delight. which gives you more ore in return for less gold. ore which is not taxed. TAX LOOPHOLE.

I strongly suggest chugging one of those good, good dranks before heading down to the arena. That is, if you aren't already drunk...

Nice finding! Would never suspect that you got taxed from arena.

Only thing I do is to "convert" all my unused gold to ores at the Ore Trader before starting a run to reduce the taxation of the gold on that run.

Good game pushing us to do tax evasion, haha.

Even better, just dump all of your leftover gold into the fountain, so you do not lose half of it due to Ore buying price being higher then Ore selling price :)

I used to do that before the last patch. There was a glitch that kept your fountain buffs on when you switched your characters. So I spent a million on some buffs, then started a run with a new character. I would switch back to them whenever i needed the buffs again. Mostly it was just so that I could afford both glass walks, gentle traps, and offshore account. Which I then used the money do dump more into the fountain... I probably would have gotten the same results just not having paid for offshore account to begin with...

arena gold is taxed? wonder if that is intentional.. gonna look into it

Thinking more about this, I think miner's delight is a bad deal if you have the miner fully upgraded. It costs 800 to buy ore, and you get 700 when you sell. That's .875 of your original investment or a 12.5% tax. It is better whenever you are playing solo player to simply take all of your gold and turn it into ore. If you are in the middle of a run and about to dump, switch to another player, change all of the gold to ore, then drop with little taxes.

offshore account, might be worth it in a multiplayer game however, as well as miner's delight. it would depend on the circumstances.
