However do the drastic differences on multiple fronts between them, how do you see Heroes of Hammerwatch translating to MOBA? They are so vastly different (gameplay, graphics, level of seriousness, etc.) that I am not seeing how the two compare.
P.S. These ideas are just what I have been wanting from a moba and not so much for this game.
If this game innovated into another moba, the current player base wouldn't stay or steadily grow... it would die.
Sounds like you want some sort of war simulator, strategy game, very far advanced from the old Risk board game.
The main problem with as big as you envision, is that you end up with the teams/guilds that dominate and then control it from there. Not friendly to new players, or the longstanding underdogs, once the game has gotten secure footing.
In a smaller setting, some people might enjoy it as fair for everyone, even if it had some MOBA features. But this would be its own undertaking, and though it could be influenced by games like LOL, Heroes of Hammerwatch is too far detached from the idea to use as a comparison.
