I gotta say, I have been searching for another game like Boyfriend Dungeon and I just haven't found another perfect cross between satisfying roguelike gameplay (that doesn't require insane game mechanic mastery) and heartfelt interactions with characters outside of and during dungeon crawls.
Unfortunately, the free DLC characters fall a little flat for me, especially since they show up so late in the game that I often have the whetstone by then and therefore get to spend very little time in the dunj with them, and their weapon forms are a little clunky for me. Also, I find the relationship with the professor feels rushed and disjointed due to not being able to spend time with her in the dunj, whereas dunjing with the other weapons helps the relationship level-up cutscenes feel much more natural and well-paced.
It's still evident that there is so much love and passion in this game, from the music (and the artists' clever cameos) to the art, and even the little streetside interactions between characters, and it all just makes the world feel so alive that ending a playthrough is always a little sad for me.
Personal favourites of mine are Sawyer (my #1), Pocket (best boy), Valeria, and Issac (who I initially overlooked).

I wasn't expecting much from this game the first time I opened it, I thought it would just be a funny game I could play while I was stressed out, and now I'm so freaking sad I finished. I don't have many bad things to say.
It's a date simulator game with dungeons, the story is cute, and I love how the dungeons and weapon-people are involved in the story. Though I did really wish I could have changed the option to be friends or lovers for a character in the middle, I feel so bad for friend-zoning Leah, she is so funny and amazing. I loved this game more than I should have, and I wish it had a continuation, but it was fun, very much fun. I would totally play it again another time. I totally recommend it if you want to have one day of just silly, endearing games.

Easy rec from me. I played the game on xbox years ago and just picked it up on steam for another playthrough. If you like visual novels, dating sims, roguelites, and dungeon crawlers, this game is all four.

Music is good, fighting mechanics are simple enough to easily switch between all playable weapons and still feel intuitive and not like you need to relearn the game every time, dungeons are well designed and balanced. I'm enjoying the art style and the dialogue is fine, no super long cut scenes and not super grindy in any capacity.


It's 10x more fun if you swing all ways (or pretend to), but you can still get a full maxed out playthrough being asexual in every interaction you have. There's also a cat. Good game 10/10
