I have to disagree with you, Yes there are so many freeware solution on the market such as teamspeak etc but that only helpful IF i play with friends. What if most of my teammate ARE complete strangers, how am i supposed to share intel or communicate with them, type while in battle inconvinience right? how can you emphasize on tactical gamplay if players having trouble to communicate with each other. How to share critical intel and all that stuff you know? anyway its my 2 cents..in the end its all up to you guys (Developers)
Im used to RainbowSixSiege and Planetside. They have ingame voice chat and i'll tell you what communication is really important and in massive multiplayer it is even more important like in Planetside2 in its glory day, people were able to organised and come up with such a genius tactic that involves cooperation of hundreds of players even with complete strangers just by communicating via ingame voice chat, its really was an amazing experienced ..
People can and will get creative. So dont LIMITS us players. Ingame voice chat is a good feature you know, its an important tool for tactical coordination and again i would like to highlight that outgame voice chat only works IF I PLAY with friends. To sum up, ingame voice chat is a necessity!
If i may, i would like to suggest:-
_________________________________________________________________________
# Ingame proximity voice chat where you can communicate with nearby friendly ONLY (maybe to
coordinate or to alert nearby hostile or something) this is better solution rather than having open voice chat where you can hear all the 32 teammates speaking at the same time which could result in total clusterfock and a mess..huge one
_________________________________________________________________________
# Squad voice chat ( So that fellow squadmates can shares intel and receive orders from squad leader easily )
_________________________________________________________________________
and most importantly >>>>>>>>
# Squad leaders voice chat ( so that fellow squad leaders can easily organised tactic together based on current intel or situation )
_________________________________________________________________________
So all of this will alows sharing of intel and simultaneous help the squad leaders to get a better understanding of current situation and help them in tactical decisions overall
And lastly i would like to say that ingame chat (the typing one) is NOT a viable option during battle, it is highly INCONVENIENCE
All in all, i wishing you guys the best in success, I'll be there with my wallet out!
I just honestly hope they wake up and realise they're going to completely screw their game up by handballing comms to other apps, even if they fix it at a later date, initial release will do too much damage
I like playing with friends but sometimes i enjoy it also playing with randoms.
Also nobody says my mates are 24/7 in tesmspeak waiting for me till i come and join them.
It is in so many games and it isn't beeing used as supposed.. Often people just blasts music and other retarded stuff.
I myself and I know many others do the same disable it as the first thing because I can't be arsed to listen to kids screaming and try hard keyboard warriors that thinks it's matter of life and death
Especially since AFAIK both UE4 and Steam API have existing pipelines for VOIP.
Ultimately this will need to be done for possible future console release since those actually don't have 3rd party options.
I was hoping squad members had a keybind to speak within the squad but also the squad leaders had a extra keybind so only the squad leaders could communicate with eachother then the squad leaders could direct the squads.(like how Squad works but without the commander)
