Can I use cheats for my farm?

I'd really like this game to have sandbox mode where I can build things without having to grind but since thats out of the option, will using cheats ONLY on MY OWN farm cause me any troubles? Thank you.

The use of cheats is tolerated by the developers. As long as you only use cheats on your own farm and other players are not affected, there are no consequences to fear.

Dear Shazza01,

I know you don't like cheats, you hate them.
I know you don't like mods, you judge them.

That is completely okay, that is your personal attitude, your own way of playing and you are certainly not alone with this view. But please don't stir up fears.

I understand your refusal when players are up to mischief on other farms. I hate that too. We have that in common. That's why I haven't played multiplayer games for a very long time. This "form of life" knows only two things, robbery and destroy. Poor souls who are only concerned about their own advantage, who are not able to create something themselves or who have never had the experience of building something together.

The writer of this post wants a sandbox farm, like many other players probably do. A farm that he can design according to his ideas. Is this an evil thought? I do not think so. As long as other players are not affected, he can create the farm of his dreams. Maybe even with a boyfriend or girlfriend.

I have used a cheat here and there, as well as some file editing. But, I keep this limited to my own farm. I rarely go to other farms and most of mine are private (with the exception of one farm).

I don't consider it cheating, as there is no competition with other players or farms. My farm is my farm and I will play it the way I want to.

As person a while back when I made the mistake of allowing my farm open to help others with harvesting (silly me)came in, said nothing (as usual) and I hear this loud noise from the other side of my map and his tractor flashing like crazy on the lower rt of my screen. I saw whole fields disappearing without him moving so, I targeted him and used the ban hammer. Anyone else had something similar? I don't use cheats here, no need but I have on games like Fallout/TRaider, Skyrim for fun :) Those Godmode type cheats in a solo game hurt nobody. When they become abusive here, then I take issue.

Someone else posted about the same thing happening on their farm. It sounds like the type of cheating that can get people banned from the game because they messed with another persons game/farm.

I rarely play mp in any game because of the cheaters, and also because of the expectations people have as to how the visitors are suppose to behave while in their world, what they are supposed to do or not do and even the order they are suppose to do it in, those type of expectations make me feel uncomfortable especially after reading all of the drama about the visitors on this forum, and I could understand it if this was some kind of a shooter/war game but it's just a mellow farming sim.

I've had two visitors like that. Had one user who was able to cycle seasons every few seconds as well, whatever that was about. Also one who was able to remove crops not ready for harvest despite not having the permissions to do so.

They may of been cycling seasons also, it was all very loud and visually very strange. I just refuse to share anything now except with my few friends. My farm is maxed and my farmer is close to 250 also so I was just trying to be kind by letting other share the wealth. I have about 1.5+ billion in Gerberas every week alone to share with people.

It sounds like they edited the seasons timer file, I have a couple of games that have time sliders in the settings menu so that you can adjust how many minutes a game day takes, it would be nice if this game had sliders too so that you don't have to wait 45 mins or an hour for the right season to roll around, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of wait wait waiting in this game.
