Remove those ridiculous limits already!
Really, why you are STILL keeping those event limits even so many newbies and old players have stated how those only make the game worse. The events worse.

Now we have a limit... only 8 unicorns. WHY? Now I can't make fantasy farm after the event. 8 unicorns ain't enough. I couldn't decorate nice winter farm because I'm limited to only 25 christmas trees. And so on. You are killing the creativity and the freedom!

You give us nice stuff as a prize in events but those are useless!!

This game stats to feel the kind I won't even recommend to anyone anymore.

I really hope the event prizes would be only outfits, pet stuff, money, diamonds and xp and you would add those nice trees, animals and crops for free or dlc packs so we could use them!

Those limitations have also made me forget farm together. I play only solo now. Before I enjoyed to visit in farms but not anymore. When there is an event there is no point to visit because you need to keep the focus in your own farm so you don't miss those little times when you can plant event plants. No point to visit and wait only to see how another visitor takes all you and you just wasted half an hour for nothing at all! I don't visit anymore even when there is no event going on because I want to take care of my farm and get some progress in there. I have now 3 farms and I would like to delete at least one of those but won't because the events are made this way.

For newbies those limits are even more horrible! They spent some time to gain the money and then they wait the time to be able to plant the event crop... and they can plant only 100. Then they need to wait again, if they have time! But almost no-one can play 24/7 or even 12 hours a day.

Ok, then let's do this: Please propose your own event configuration.

Let's use 5 reward tiers as an example, you can decide seasons and duration of the crop, as well as the number of items required, and crop limit if you want.

We can discuss about it and if seems reasonable maybe we can modify some of the future events to fit it and see how it goes.

I much perferred the halloween event, though I do feel that the amount was a little OTT. However, what I'd be interested in learning, visitors who come to your farm can plant an additional 100 crops. What about Unicorns? Can the same be applied to Unicorns or are we really stuck at the 8 limit? I've read that the first task for the Unicorns is 40 with a 2 hours harvesting time. Seems like that will take ages!

It would be great for the limits to be removed but I doubt now whether they'll do this.

I'm sure once the event is over the unicorns will be able to placed like other animals. Although I dislike that it's not 'maxed' at 9. All my stuff is based on 3x3 plots xD The fish, the animals, the trees. xD

edit: although yes, I think the low limit is a bit silly considering.

Other things, example Basses (fish) or christmas trees and so are limited even after the events so I am afraid the unicorns will be also. Those are a prize and also an event animal so I think the limit will stay...

And I like too keep most of the stuff 3x3. Limited crops makes me annoyed every time because I have specific field areas and 100 pieces don't fit anywhere nicely. Always there is empty plots and I hate empty plots. I also hate to plant mixed crops in the same field area so...

They are? The devs said the limit should be removed after the event is over. Hmmm. Lemme see if I can find that post, might have to post it as a separate problem if they're still limited.

Yeah I have no plots in my public farm except an event area that I change to match amounts. I've got one raised area filled, and depending on limit I throw another (longer taking) crop where the 'max' amount ends and then I have a spot next to that where I add or subtract field plots for 'visitors' amounts.

If that's true then it's a little bit better. Still upsetting to not be able to make estetic planting and limits are making the game and events for newbies ridiculously hard.

Nah I can't find it. But I could have sworn I did read something like that. Unless my brain has just lost itself.
Chareita Feb 1, 2019 @ 9:42am
It might be true. I have not followed the forum that much lately. I have only hoped after event after event they would make changes into events, but no... =(
Shiiro Feb 1, 2019 @ 9:49am
It's one of the reasons I keep my farm open during the day for about 6 hours. They're definitely the kind of events where you gotta collaborate. But I've got a million things I'm doing throughout the day as well so I'm back and forth on the computer, and so I don't bounce around to other farms xD I mean I could, but I'd rather have mine open to help people, I don't mind either way about completing events (other than Halloween) so I'm not too worried if people pop in or not, I just want that option out there for others x3

+ a million :)

I agree, the limits are a massive turn off for the game. It's not making it easier, it makes it harder and more of a grind. No point visiting other farms, no point opening your own farm up to others. So these events are now no longer fun.

As a result I barely play any more and I'm less likely to recommend the game to others.

This is why I've not bothered to update my now very outdated Early Access review of FT, it's just going to stay negative. In my case, I bought this to play solo. I have no interest in farming with others. Yet these silly limits try and force you to go online and even then you're still tied to the PC for hours to hit the harvest requirements.

I'm thinking we now have an explanation for why they've not bothered to tackle so called cheaters, if mucking with the in-game clock speeds the events up so I can go back to enjoying the game again I think I'll become a dirty cheater soon lol

Agree with above comments...

Devs - PLEASE reconsider removing the planting limits.

Besides my main themed farm and a main event farm I have several other mini event farms where I can take people on a harvest tour. Because of the restricted amount planted it gets tricky if multiple people turn up.

I know other players that have also made multiple farms as work arounds to the low limits.

For those of us with space and resources, hosting a mass planting farm to help newer players is fun and social.

The Halloween quantities were a bit OTT, especially so soon after release, but a scaled down version would be best for me. I enjoyed helping new folk achieve what would have been a hard grind. I was able to help with questions on what to do etc. We had great teamwork going on.

People play different ways depending on how much time they have etc.

Suggestion
Let us mass plant so we don't need multiple event farms to maintain

Visitors can harvest a restricted amount per farm to encourage visiting, no time limits. So if they wabt to visit a couple of farms a day or 20 is up to them.

Farm owners can harvest a restricted amount per 24hrs if they don't want to visit other farms.

Visitor harvest quotas count for farmer and visitor as currently done.

The quantities are a starting point for further discussion.

Hate the planting limits. I started a flat farm so I could do nice neat 3x3 groups of things, the tree limit at the xmas event was garbage, the 100 planting limit on event crops messes with the layout, the 8 unicorns? don't even get me started. Get rid of the event limits. If you want the challenge, self impose it, don't punish people who have worked to the point where they can get the quests done in one go. It's a trash move.
Brechnor Feb 2, 2019 @ 10:48am
If anything these event limitations punish the casual and the new players of this game even more than veterans, as it means new players will have either have to change real life to suit the game and get them out fast enough, or try to ignore them, which will be impossible to do on a regular basis that they come out in.

The limitations mean if you don't start an event early enough you have absolutely no chance to complete them later on.

I only just found out about the 8 unicorn max which does seem to be bordering on unreasonable, at least with 9 unicorns you could design a nice square pen.

That said on balance, I still think it’s among the best farming games I have, so much so that I bought it for switch too. :)
