It would be great for the limits to be removed but I doubt now whether they'll do this.
edit: although yes, I think the low limit is a bit silly considering.
Other things, example Basses (fish) or christmas trees and so are limited even after the events so I am afraid the unicorns will be also. Those are a prize and also an event animal so I think the limit will stay...
And I like too keep most of the stuff 3x3. Limited crops makes me annoyed every time because I have specific field areas and 100 pieces don't fit anywhere nicely. Always there is empty plots and I hate empty plots. I also hate to plant mixed crops in the same field area so...
Yeah I have no plots in my public farm except an event area that I change to match amounts. I've got one raised area filled, and depending on limit I throw another (longer taking) crop where the 'max' amount ends and then I have a spot next to that where I add or subtract field plots for 'visitors' amounts.
If that's true then it's a little bit better. Still upsetting to not be able to make estetic planting and limits are making the game and events for newbies ridiculously hard.
I agree, the limits are a massive turn off for the game. It's not making it easier, it makes it harder and more of a grind. No point visiting other farms, no point opening your own farm up to others. So these events are now no longer fun.
As a result I barely play any more and I'm less likely to recommend the game to others.
This is why I've not bothered to update my now very outdated Early Access review of FT, it's just going to stay negative. In my case, I bought this to play solo. I have no interest in farming with others. Yet these silly limits try and force you to go online and even then you're still tied to the PC for hours to hit the harvest requirements.
I'm thinking we now have an explanation for why they've not bothered to tackle so called cheaters, if mucking with the in-game clock speeds the events up so I can go back to enjoying the game again I think I'll become a dirty cheater soon lol
Devs - PLEASE reconsider removing the planting limits.
Besides my main themed farm and a main event farm I have several other mini event farms where I can take people on a harvest tour. Because of the restricted amount planted it gets tricky if multiple people turn up.
I know other players that have also made multiple farms as work arounds to the low limits.
For those of us with space and resources, hosting a mass planting farm to help newer players is fun and social.
The Halloween quantities were a bit OTT, especially so soon after release, but a scaled down version would be best for me. I enjoyed helping new folk achieve what would have been a hard grind. I was able to help with questions on what to do etc. We had great teamwork going on.
People play different ways depending on how much time they have etc.
Suggestion
Let us mass plant so we don't need multiple event farms to maintain
Visitors can harvest a restricted amount per farm to encourage visiting, no time limits. So if they wabt to visit a couple of farms a day or 20 is up to them.
Farm owners can harvest a restricted amount per 24hrs if they don't want to visit other farms.
Visitor harvest quotas count for farmer and visitor as currently done.
The quantities are a starting point for further discussion.
Hate the planting limits. I started a flat farm so I could do nice neat 3x3 groups of things, the tree limit at the xmas event was garbage, the 100 planting limit on event crops messes with the layout, the 8 unicorns? don't even get me started. Get rid of the event limits. If you want the challenge, self impose it, don't punish people who have worked to the point where they can get the quests done in one go. It's a trash move.
The limitations mean if you don't start an event early enough you have absolutely no chance to complete them later on.
I only just found out about the 8 unicorn max which does seem to be bordering on unreasonable, at least with 9 unicorns you could design a nice square pen.
That said on balance, I still think it’s among the best farming games I have, so much so that I bought it for switch too. :)
