Game too short/easy?
Well, I'm not one for "breaking" the game with abusing builds, but having a full Explorer, Dominus, and mix builds with stacking damage stacking abilities and the offensive mechadendrites, the entire enemy force just crumples (especially when combined with plasma that shoots through enemies). I narrowed it down to a few things:

1. The damage output even without the crit bonuses working is just absurd...I know crit stacking doesn't work at this time, but with 10% base, + 15% skill bonus, +20% gloves, 45% crit rate is going to be overpowered. I played through the entire game without losing a single techpriest. Stacking the +12 damage canticle, 2 x 4 damage boosters, my axe was critting for over 30 damage, and my dendrites hitting for 2 x 10. There isn't enough

2. Enemy AI running away, triggering opportunity attacks. They do this. Every time if they're ranged. Every. Time. Even if it kills them.

3. It becomes way too easy to generate additional action points and stack movement bonuses. You can fly across the map, shooting everything, ignoring opportunity attacks, penetrating armor, and nothing will get close to killing you.

4. Armor defense stacking is very strong. My main characters were 3/2 defenses, and my support characters with 2/2. I'm sure if I optimized defense, I could get it higher, but I cared more about movement bonuses.

I love WH40k universe and in particular, the Adeptus Mechanicus... but the game feels like it was off to a great start, and wasn't expanded upon enough.

Same here. The tutorial was actually the hardest part of the game lol. I only lost once because of a bug in the game where the entire cohort died at the start of the final arena of the "grave goods" mission. The game became easier as i progressed and earned new and more OP guns.

Obliterating every enemy on turn 1 is not exactly challenging. I finished the game with 3 tech priests and I am certain I could manage with only 2.

The devs did confirm that balance patches are planned in the future.

I have enjoyed getting to 30% but it's clear the difficulty is going down and not up. This was the case with XCOM as well, but no where near as pronounced.
True. I have enjoyed the game a lot and hope for the best for it. I do beleve a balance patch is in order tho. There are a lot of exploits now and I dont like having to restrict myself when i'm playing a strategy game. I am no expert on strategy games but I beleave the people in charge of balancing must be completely new to the genre.

17 hours played, could have beat it sooner but its a reasonable amount of fun for the price, I just kept doing missions till about 80% then went for the bosses and crushed them consectively, at any rate I enjoyed the game ^.^ hopefully there will be some TLC and bonus content in the future perhaps a new planet DLC? anyways, one of the best W40k games ive played in a while now

I haven't gotten very far into the game myself. But I'm enjoying hte current difficulty level. If they increase it, I'm hoping for a seperate HARD difficulty for thouse who want it.

I'm also hoping there is a post game mode added where you can keep using your units, after beating the story.

I think its a little short but we dont have the full ending and szargageon or however you spell it is meant to be last necron you face I have a feeling that whover you dont side with will try to kill you and you gotta beat em

also its to much fun murdering all the enemies in the room with the gravaton cannon because taking out a heavy destroyer in one shot is fun but if the difficulty does get boosted healing needs a slight upgrade
