HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WIN THIS???
https://imgur.com/a/KPRlOAy

Two regular Necrons, which onehsot my servotirs.
One OP-Godnecron that has 40 healthpoints, which is more than ALL my units COMBINED.

The servitors get oneshotted by regular footsoldiers. I only have 4 in total to deploy.

How the hell am I supposed to win this? Mashing my healing ability that heals 2 points max when i get -4 per hit of a necron, so if I'm LUCKY i only get -2 if only ONE necron hits he that round?

To clarify:

- I have 4 servitors and...
- ... two techpriests...

...to deploy in this mission. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

Before calling me a noob, please post a video of someone beating this mission, demonstrating it can be done. Thank you.

The destroyer is bugged. If you try to use the terrain as cover he can shoot through it. If you try to lock him in melee he just ignores it and shoots anyway. This has been acknowledged by the devs and is being fixed, but that doesn't help people who are stuck with a literally unwinnable mission in the meantime.

Yeah but it's not "literally unwinnable" as there are players winning it. In the stream I linked, that was my second mission, so what was demonstrated was something anyone else could follow except of course they may opt for different skill point selections.

Not saying it's not hard unbalanced or borked, but OP asked if it's winnable and it is.
You're offering advice on the assumption that the player has weapons that can deal with the situation, and can use tactics that work. I noticed you had a nice gun that took off half his health in a single hit. I don't have that. The best I have is a gun that does 1-2 damage and a melee weapon that does 2-3 damage. Despite that it would still be just about winnable if he didn't shoot through walls and ignore melee restrictions.

I'm not saying it's guaranteed unwinnable for everyone, but it's not unlikely that players will find themselves in a situation where it is literally unwinnable because they don't have access to gear that can defeat him, especially when he's essentially cheating because of a bug.

Wasn't assuming he has the same weapon as me, but I was asked to produce something as "proof" that it could be done, no specification on gear limitation. The following advice was regarding what I did, perhaps it didn't come across that way - it goes without saying that individual experiences will vary according to what starting skills or upgrades one chooses to purchase.

I'll make sure to put a disclaimer or an emphasised "IF" in future advice or posts, how about that :D

Think that's the ending of the tutorial? I might be confusing myself

the destroyer had no armor in my run, so I walked up the servitors and hit him with an arc rifle

I failed this the first attempt and beat it pretty easily the second time. Kill all the warriors and scarabs before you get too close to the destroyer. I ran my tech priest with the phosphor gun to the north east and sniped from behind the building there. It's much easier with the phosphor gun, I made sure to do that mission before trying this one

Its like Xcom ... browse mission rewards and see what you can equip to face greater threats ... i have done your mission with 2 Tech priest and 2 servitor ..... my volkite canon and tech priest with free weapon use made quick work ( by the way the vulkite canon was one of my first right in the second mission I had the faith guy mission done before .... putting some dumb incense in the necron tomb really Ad Mech facepalm LUL)

That looks like the first mission you can elect to take from the Scaervos dude trying to scavenge a destroyer (I did it first right after tutorial ended). It is "hard" but not impossible.

I made the mistake of exploring all rooms so my counter was near 4 when I got there.

If you take your time killing the destroyer he will get the reduced reanimation protocols and instant ressurect.

Took me 3 tries. The key to passing it was using my tech priests to pounce on the destroyer as a team instead of spreading out (how I did my previous fights).

The destroyer moves (and shoots) twice so using the DELAY option while a servitor is out front will give you a meat shield to stay alive. You only get 1 shot at killing the SOB

I staged my tech priests near the end of the wall on the right (where it widens) and had a servitor as backup and 1 out front to eat bullets for me

I put 2 others I on the opposite wall to catch the reinforcement necron warrior and distract the one that spawns early

Force axes are my favorite early game weapon. Opportunity strikes when necrons flee to fire usually kill them (because I also did an attack on the way in).

EZ mission
lordsteel166 Nov 16, 2018 @ 10:40am
The OP may be refering to the Tutorial Mission when you first run into the recident tomb lord. If that is the case then there is no winning, he is the end boss and he is there to be big and scary and kill you. I pulled off a "win" by falling back leaving the servators behind to slow him down enough so that the Cog Boys could run around and get to the exit. If its about the destroyer then for that one you need to get out of his LOS and force him to come to you or at least get within charge range. then pin him down with a severator and whack him with your melee Cog Boy till he dies. Hopefully they have fixed the bug where it could fire through walls.
torvon Nov 16, 2018 @ 10:58am
Yeah that was a difficult one (but not unwinnable)

No, I killed the big one in the tutorial, because it has a glitch I accidently triggered.

It's the second mission you encounter one of those bosses I struggle.

Anyhow, I unlocked a better gun now, which does 1-10 damage, I'll try with that one.

Thank everyone for their assistance. :)
