Does awakening level 1 do anything?
Necrons will still appear in battle areas even before the awakening meter reaches level 1 (while "our presence has [ostensibly NOT] been detected") Is it nothing more than flavor text warning of worse awakening effects? It has the same "open eye" symbol that the "extra Necrons in battle" awakening levels do... Maybe I'm just overthinking something minor. Has anyone noticed any difference between awakening levels 0 and 1?

The only difference I have realized is scarab traps no longer wait for you to enter range to spawn scarabs. But I have not tested this enough to confirm this.

If you complete the mission on awakening level one it will add one percent to the global awakening meter.

At level 1 Canoptek Scarabs will spawn and you'll add 1% to the global awakening meter should you not lower it by the end of the mission. You can lower the awakening levels by smashing consoles and sometimes through random events or at the end of encounters. You can wind up completing a mission with level 0 awakening under the right circumstances - Enginseer/Explorator is good for this IMO.

I have done that, and it is both awesome and hilarious ("Mechanicus is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits" and all that). I am aware of the awakening percentage; I am just being overly pedantic/specific trying to find out what the one awakening effect I do not know does.

Understandable. This game is kind of broken in the right ways, but then again that's kind of how the Mechanicus is to begin with.
