Thanks, I agree that the item is a lot more useful than I initially thought. But the game really has a problem with not explaining its mechanics properly.
They are basically my favorite mechadendrites.
Even on a ranged character they are useful, if you give your ranged character 3 levels in explorator they aren't affected by oppurtunity attacks anyway, all my tech priests get at least 3 levels in explorator, otherwise if you don't like to multiclass everyone 3 levels as explorator , you can still give 1 cognition mechadendrite + 1 of the mechadendrites which do a bit of physical damage and have knockback, to not be affected by oppurtunity attacks.
