How am I supposed to build my techpriest early on?
So I just banged my head against the third mission in this game for two hours (Both options) before googling why it was literally impossibly, only to find it was a combination of apparently getting the wrong missions and being improperly skilled, which made it so it was not possible to keep up. Had to start a new game.

I'm pissed, frustrated, and honestly I just don't care about the gameplay at the moment. So could someone tell me what I'm supposed to do to cheese my way through the early game so I can at least enjoy the story and atmosphere? I have no interest in fishing and having to reset again.

Thanks.

the best way is either domanus or explorer and get the arms to do more damage or dont be that agro be clam and think like a tech priest :)

Sadly the beginning of the game can become extremely hard if you fail some of the first missions. Since you don't complete missions you don't get enough items and Blackstone to upgrade your techpriests, but the missions keep getting harder because the Awakening rolls on. It becomes a death spiral. If you're in that unlucky situation the best option is to restart.

Regarding how to build your tech priest in the beginning, there have been a lot of posts about it. Search the forums a bit, but in general, go for Cognition Points.

One error that people often make is that they focus too much on ONE techpriest. The increasing Blackstone cost of additional skills makes it far better to get 2 or 3 techpriests levelled up simultanously, instead of having 1 techpriest ahead.

Another error that people often make is that they don't notice you can bring more than one troop for each mission. You can actually bring a lot, and they help a great deal at the beginning.

I was bringing max Servitors along and splitting my upgrades between the two starting Tech Priests. It was simply impossible for me to keep up with enemy spawns in my previous builds. I switched to Lexmechanic, Tech-Aux, and Dominus (First skill and armor) and I was able to squeak past the offending missions this time.

Now I'm on break because the game glitched out while I was buying legs and I ended up with -600 Blackstone, and the game apparently doesn't autosave when you complete missions (But it will autosave in the middle of fights?), and I'm getting angry again.

This game just really doesn't want to be loved, no matter how hard I try.

make sure each techpriest has a curatio (be it a dendrite or a claw) so they can endure the fight to the end.

Armor and more HP ASAP early on. I usually do explorator chest and legs on one guy, dominus on the other. Healing mechadendrite on one of them is mandatory.

You can win any early mission by spamming servitors, even the destroyer mission.
