This whole tree is built around getting you more CP, however it doesn't seem to do a very good job of it the first two abilities apply very infrequently. The first ability is not awful as it guarantees you the ability to shoot a one CP weapon but most of the time you have some CP left in the tank from the previous fight.
Does this ability come into its own later in the game?
Extraction Protocol relies on convenient map generation and is not useful on any of the games most challenging fights thus far I'm about 60% through the game.

While it's later abilities could be good this tree just seems to have to much garbage, and I missing something?

All the abilities trees save the best stuff for the last. The last lexmechanic skill is perhaps the best of all trees

Some of this is due to the recent nerfs. The first Lexmechanic ability used to give 1 CP every turn no matter what, and that was absurdly broken because you would always take that on every techpriest. Now it only gives 1 CP if your CP pool is empty, which is a lot less powerful. The second ability lets you gather multiples from a single source, and the 2 and 3 CP archives become more common in the later game. Dead Analytics works well when you're using AoE weapons where you can kill a couple enemies while also finishing off a couple downed enemies to pull a bunch of CP at once. It's not as crazy as it was before, but it's still a strong tree.
