By pressing "Next Camera" a couple of times (check the controls, I never use default settings).

Was the first thing i did. I did not see any key bindings for that. Just the basics for flying and thats it. The F1 help key with the basics of flight- does not mention how to switch to cockpit either, probably because this was not updated when cockpits were added.
