Just got done with the first couple levels, and I've gotta say, I'm liking it a lot so far! If you're a fan of classic FPS games, this may feel like if Quake and Heretic had a baby that looks much better than either. Levels are expansive, weapons are fun, enemy behavior and animation REALLY remind me of OG Quake (in a good way), and the movement is tight and responsive. The only thing I don't like is that the ray-tracing tanks the performance really badly. If you don't have at least a 30 series Nvidia card then don't bother with ray-tracing.

Amid Evil is proof to me that New Blood is more than the Ultrakill people, and is what inspired me to look deeper into their catalog. The game itself is spectacular in terms of gameplay and visuals. The level design can be confusing but its so well done that it only got annoying like.. once. The story is interesting, and I'm excited to see if its properly wrapped up.

didnt know it was possible for visuals to be grating. after playing for like, 20 minutes I feel like im bout to get burn in on my brain, the textures are so bad and the colors are so obnoxiously bright. definitely dont play if you are photosensitive, you wont make it past level 1

gameplay wise its meh, just another doom style shooter. Theres nothing that sets it apart from the rest of the pile other than its magic instead of guns.
