(We run the game on a tablet)
Unfortunately I'm getting average about 30fps.
My Native resolution is 1366x768, but even if I try 1280x720 it doesn't help much.
This is with all settings down low.
DUSK runs Way, better (although surprisingly struggles to get 50fps).
Maybe this game is well optimised, but it's not light enough to run well on a HD4000.
Shame, I hoped these retro style games would run on a potato.
My set up: I5 3320m @ 2.60ghz, 8GB RAM, Intel HD4000.
I tried Ion Maiden and it runs fine, (after turning off open GL option.)
Just awaiting a reply in case there are any suggestions you can give, otherwise I'll have to take that refund
I have tried reducing the resolution scale, that helps a bit, but it looks bad.
Any way to change open gl setting or change threads used or something?
I know this can make big differences, but I see not options in game.
Thanks
& Type a custom resolution to use, don't go with 1280x720.
I have a more powerful setup than you (i7 2.5GHz 12GB RAM Nvidia 840m) and though I run everything on Epic/Max minus AA, I set my resolution to 960x540 (60fps 95% of the time).
It looks better than using resolution scaling, which feels like it emulates a lower resolution, resulting in a much blurrier uglier look than just typing in the resolution options a custom one like I did, in true fullscreen though, not borderless windowed mode (the names are confusingly named at the moment).
(This rule applies universally to games, always prefer true/exclusive fullscreen and manually set a lower one, looks better and runs better than borderless windowed with lower resolution scales.)
I can give you more tips on UE4 performance stuff possibly, here's one comment, and here's another universal topic.
That was hard to change the resolution to custom, the mouse has to be placed exactly in the right position or the clicks wont register.
It didn't help much anyway.
Your 840m Is a very powerful card compared to my HD4000
And you only get 60fps 95% of the time at 540p? Something is wrong.
Yet the devs say this is optimised amazingly?
To me, a big point to games like this is I can play them on my old laptop when I travel (often).
Maybe it will work on my main 970m SLI laptop when I get access to it,
Need SLI to run it well? lol
Sorry.. but refunded.
Great game but misses the mark for what I intended it for - A low spec and fun game.
Store page says it's optimized for a pretty nice toaster.
But your disappointment is understandable, all the best to your game hunting!
It's a great game. The best 'retro' fps I've played.
I just cant live with the low framerates with HD4000 though.
Might pick it up later when I get access to my better laptop.
