Put "dx12" in the command line, but game still prompts me about whether I want to use directx 12 when I hit play

This is definitely in the category of 'first world problems' but every time I launch Amid Evil I get the popup that asks me if I want DirectX 11 or DirectX 12. I always want 12! I tried adding "-dx12" to the command line as instructed in the stickied post but I still get the popup. Any suggestions?

Try to avoid launching the game directly from the library. Instead, with -DX12 still in your launch options, launch the game instead from a desktop shortcut or from right clicking the steam icon that's on your system tray. Have you already tried that?

Oh okay. It works when I launch that way.
