Settlement Growth
Does anyone have advice or more knowledge on settlement growth, growth rates, and when they qualify for upgrades? The wiki information is extremely outdated. I've been enjoying the game, but I get bored in most playthroughs after ~10-15 years game time. I'm making buckets of money, most settlements are towns at 300-400K population, but no one advances to a larger size and I never have any demand for most tier 3 products.

Key questions: Do towns grow faster if you're supplying more different types of goods to their stores? If you're trying to get to high-level products and prototype items, is it better to feed goods to many settlements or focus on sending as many as possible to a single town?

Population is what seems to trigger it. The faster you supply the city with the goods they want as well as multiple products help quickly satisfy the population requirement, you will level them up.

^Yep as SGTV says try to at least Partially Supply as many of the products the town is demanding as possible.

As you supply more products the Town status will change from Stagnant to Prosperous. This means more people will want to live here and the town population will increase.

Once it reaches a certain population, you will be notified that it "wants to advance".

You say you've got loads of cash lying around - save it up because advancing towns is expensive (unless you can supply the specific products they're requesting) - and now that the AI competition is in the game, the other towns will reach "want to advance" on their own, and you may have 4 or 5 towns telling you they want to advance all around the same time.

It's always the same products. The first two are bricks and wood boards, afterwards it's always bricks and reinforced wall. I have some factories dedicated to just these and enable them when I need to.
