1. Am I correct in assuming that I'd place a truck depot next to a resource or production point that is too far for the warehouse to auto collect?
2. The scenario being that town A has the resources and production points to make the goods that town B needs. Can I use a truck depot to transport between two warehouses that are in different towns?
2. This is where Depots and Terminal come in, yes. Long distance hauling. Larger trucks/trains/etc and generally cheaper than using direct destinations.
Do the trucks the depots use have higher storage for shipping perhaps?
I see the AI uses truck depots and even places them next to warehouses. Why?
Coal mine 1, Warehouse 1, Warehouse 2, Train depot 1, Train depot 2.
Coal mine 1, Warehouse 1 and Train depot 1 are connected by roads at Location A.
Many tiles away are Warehouse 2 and Train depot 2 at Location B.
Location A and B are connected by rail.
I cannot get Warehouse 1 to send to Warehouse 2. Warehouse 1 collect plenty of coal but insists on sending coal trucks miles across the map, even though the train depot 1 is right next door and connected to the destination by rail.
As 'The Master Penguin' says....I need to have a look at some guides.
Keep in mind that Trade Routes are more cost-efficient than regular routes *only if transporting goods more than 75 tiles*.
