Basically they told you at the beginning, going up and down instead of just straight ahead give you speed.
So if you need to go further go like a sinusoidal, up, down and up.
There is a lot of RNG with the obstacles tho. The game punishes you if you go too fast and jump too high. (lot of death boundaries) :(
The second surf course is just obscene with its shortcake slice parts too. Too bad there is no achievement cause I did beat it. :D
There have really only been 3 slide segments I've had to try several times. The first two actually took just a handful of tries. The one I'm on now, which I'm guessing is the last one, starts out fast and easy, then you have to hit some really short slide sections while ascending a good ways. It's taken FAR more than a handful of tries and it's getting frustrating, but I'm also making progress.
As mentioned you need to be careful at what angle you leave the slide ramp, and if you need to elevate, it always helps to slide from a ramp's low side to it's high side while exiting. Momentum is key for building speed, but in some spots you may have to do a 180 turn or two to slide one or more ramps twice to build back up speed and/or height.
This DLC I thought I was going to hate so much I would just pass on it, but for the most part it's quite addicting. The combat and platforming in between the slide segments is a bit too corny and could be more challenging, but it's all about hangin' ten in this one.
