NG+ is locked to "Hardcore" mode, really?
Why do this? Why not follow the same pattern that games like Dying Light 1, or The Last of Us did? Let me play with my ♥♥♥♥ again but on whatever difficulty I want, this is unbelievable...

The whole point of NG+ is to add to the replayability of the game by providing me with the liberty to replay the game whilst keeping all of my upgrades, why add restrictions on top of that?

I just wanted to replay the freaking game on "normal" difficulty with my upgrades and weapons from my first playthrough, guess there always has to be a catch, is not enough waiting for months for you guys to implement the actual thing, now I have to be concerned about HOW you're choosing to implement it.

♥♥♥♥ me. I was really, really looking foward to getting the game over here on Steam during the summer sale. :zote:

Does it at least count for the "beat the game on hardcore difficulty" achievement?

Yeah the 1.8 patch afffect armageddon only from what i can tell. There are rumors that it also breaks the game (some boss become invulnerable) so maybe wait a few days before patching if you can.

Some reports say that it's the health UI element that is not updating, while the bosses do continue to take damage

have you tried it? it's unfair as hell, there's not enough saves, your weapons are inferior, it takes so long to get your own gear back, i never wanted to die to every robot because the game forces this difficulty upon me

Sorry you're dissapointed but this is wildly untrue, ng+ is never meant to be an ultra easy mode like you desribe. Yes, it usually involves letting you keep some stuff from the first playthrough, with the tradeoff of significantly harder gameplay, and that is what most people will want and expect from a ng+ mode.
no it isnt, the point is just a new game, + all your previous game gear, and play on the difficulty you want, not just armageddon with a side of robot performed organ removal

Try it out, it is not as difficult as you make it out to be. My first playthrough was on Armaggedon difficulty and I did not find it difficult at all. Throughout the entire playthrough, I've died only once.

Stop exaggerating.

You get all your abilities and gear back when you're first introduced to Nora, which is only like 10 minutes into the game if that. Once you get all your stuff back, you're pretty much overpowered for the most part. So much so, that the only differences is that most enemies are now color coded to indicate certain new abilities/features and resistances. Like the purple colored guys are immune to glove abilities, orange tries to blow themselves up.

Once you get use to that, it's really no different than the regular Armageddon.
