chest in hot workshop

This has been bothering me. There's a chest in the hot workshop on a suspended platform that you can't jump to and that you're supposed to reach by shimmying up a beam. I found the beam, but when I shimmy up it, it doesn't quite reach the platform. How can I get onto this platform?

THis is a late replay lol but.... If its what im thinking of you shimmy to the end of the beam, jump and dash in the air and youll make it.
