Is there no DS4 Controller support?

I thought there was something wrong with my controller when I saw it say Playstation Icons in the options menu and my controller wasn't working but it seems to work on other games so is there just no native DS4 control support in this game?

Who uses a gamepad on a PC fps game? Even the menus are far better with a mouse. Using a gamepad you have to simulate mouse movements and it's terrible.

blame sony's back end. it simply doesn't detect as dx input controllers like 99.99% of things.

Ahh I see, maybe it's time I think about investing in a Windows Controller instead of just using this DS4 I mostly kept around for Souls games

I wouldn't go that far. Your controller is perfectly fine. You just run that program in the background and you have yourself a fully functional xbox controller inside your DS4
You can also create profiles for different types of controllers, I have my settings to sweep the touch screen to change between xbox mode and playstation mode. Useful for games released from Sony

except there's a way to do this with steam input! there are multiple games that are able to utilize steam input, recognize that the controller behind steam input is a ps4 controller, and still display proper controls. IE: Final Fantasy 14. Steam clearly offers an API for this that so many devs just don't utilize! Why is it so damn hard for companies to take that little extra time to not just slap xbox input prompts on their games? Especially when the game was ported to ps4 and thus they ALREADY MADE THE ICONS!!!!

Some people like myself are unable to use a keyboard and mouse to play games or anything. I use a tablet or my phone to go on the internet, and to play games no matter on console or pc I can only use a controller.
Some people actually have reasons ya know.

If you don't mind me asking, why can you not use a keyboard and mouse?
But yeah, good controller support is always welcomed on PC games. This game is definitely more difficult on a controller though, due to fps functions

My xobox controller died in midle of game. Swiched to ds4. In steam setings you need to configure it. You will get it when enter in gamepad settings from stem settings menu. If not just ask, i will help.

You can change it in the controls menu, there is an option to show PlayStation buttons. All you have to do is activate it.

Some people want more than one walk speed, adaptive triggers, heptic feedback and the gyro features a modern hybrid controller can offer. Mouse and keyboard is so 1994. Who wants to look like they are checking emails playing FPS in 2023?

Usually I have to disable steam input for ds4 features to work but PS5 controller support is just another thing missing from the game.

There is an option in game to use PS dualsense button prompts but the controller support is diabolical in Atomic Heart and the ADS sensitivity is higher than the standard sensitivity. Good luck.

Some just want to chill on a couch and have a setup conducive to that using a controller.
