What's up with the voice acting?

Just watched some gameplay on youtube, and as hyped for the game i was, or am, the voice acting seems really i don't know, amateur?

Always play the game in the native language with subs. Of course they will cheap out on dubs for other languages.

I'm summarising but 101% sure. Their intent was for the game to be played in Russian with subtitles, and it's used to excuse localisation issues. Deleted cos I didn't want the fuss but here we are. :)

In that case, we might as well go cheap too with a gamepass install. I mean we shouldn't act like the quality of the voice acting for a full price game should be ok as being bad, just because it's not their "native language", especially with voice actors like Gavin Drea on the board?

Btw, the witcher for example wasn't bad at all in english, so not sure if it's actually a localisation issue or in just generally a really meh voice acting.

generaly in eastern europe they watch film whit the original voices and whit sub
so is likely the cheaped out because that is what they expect

It's not a AAA studio with high quality English voice actors....
It's a foreign gaming company of course voice acting is gonna be off...

If legit bothers you play in the original voice language with subtitles on.

no excuse.. its poor writing and directing thats done it

its the cheesy one liners dropped when attacking an enemy and cringey dialogue as a whole thats ruined this game for me

Do I have to download a seperate audio pack or does this game have Russian audio as a menu option? I really don't want to play a Russian agent with an American accent

A bad english dub is better than playing in russian i guess. Focusing on subtitles just to understand a thing they say isn't really better.

It’s Jay Rincon who does the English voice acting in Atomic Heart. Gavin Drea is V in CP 2077. They do sound similar but it’s not the same person.
