The most annoying Protagonist in gaming History?

I haven't heard him say a single thing that wasn't whiny or being a douchebag in my two hours of gameplay so far. It actually drives me wild that I'm controlling such a terrible person. Does he improve?

"I suggest we use the left elevator"

"Oh well I hate you so I'm going on the right"

Is one small example of just ..being a ♥♥♥♥ for no reason? It's not funny ...is it meant to be comedy?

I think he is pretty funny, but I'm not that far in the game. I dunno if he becomes worse, but it has this B movie vibes. It may be best to play on Russian, but I find the voices so funny in English, that I like it.

I dunno, I heard the protagonist in Forspoken is annoying from a review I watched online. I haven't played it so I can't comment personally on it, but I think it was ACG, who devoted time to talk about how awful she is.

I wish they gave him a Russian accent or something. I feel so taken out of the game everytime they say russian words with American/Western accents.

To be honest, not even close to be "the most annoying protagonist".
I played few other games where it was much worse...

And yes, it is meant to be funny/comedy. And It is.
But at the same time comedy is heavily subjective.
What you do not take in as "funny", other people do.

His rudeness and dry speaking is like that game Rogue Warrior. Being a fan of bad humor I'm enjoying more than the Mary Sue patriot types that in like trillion FPS these days.

There is actually a reason for his outbursts of aggression later in the story extensive brain damage, particularly to the frontal lobe which can impair social functions and cause aggression and even violent behavior

There almost every character is annoying.

Borlderlands 3 is close candidate but I would not consider it horrible. But it is still bad.

Fallout 4 protagonist is very "weird".
Fallout 4 Codsworth companion (not protagonist but still has a very close connection to him) is funny for first 30min but then really annoying everytime you get into combat.

Genshin Impact Paimon just never stops talking with very high voice... Also not a protagonist but she is alway there...

Tomb Raider 2013... My god...

Those are couple i can think of right now. There are more but I would need to check my game lib to remeber some.

I'll say that I don't agree with any of your examples, but the closest is Forspoken. I hate the character in that game for the exact same reason I hate the character in this one. They're both condescending ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you can't say one is bad without acknowledging the other is.

I'd say every Borderlands is a cringe-fest. Especially in 2.
Bubsy 3D is also SO much worse than this.

just switch the audio to russian. it makes the game infinitely more enjoyable
