Owl drops

Are owls supposed to drop an unlimited supply of loot crate if you just shoot the crate and not the machine itself or is this a possible bug/exploit?

this happened to me too, but they eventually stopped dropping crates, I think it might be a visual bug.

I was in the seed bank just collecting unlimited loot for awhile till i got bored lol
