Oh dang. I didn't even realize that.
I kinda feel the same way. That's why I'm supporting 11 bit Studios with a purchase of This War of Mine.

♥♥♥♥ Putin, ♥♥♥♥ Russia, boycott russian companies.
It's been confirmed that Valve isn't sending payments to Russian companies so in all likelihood yes. Sanctions will affect the development/sales. Atomic Heart is probably going to be indefinitely delayed or cancelled for a western release.
Apparently every Russian is attacking Ukraine now and loves their president.
Putting the game on the ignore list will sure show those vodka lovers, and make them stop invading other countries.
I wonder if they will stop supporting Chinese and middle eastern devs/games too...?
Don't let these people discourage you, every form of support helps. It's killing them that you're doing this. Keep winning.
Thank you for the well informed reply.
Please inform me on how the Russian economy works. Last I knew Russia was an authoritarian Communist government, which basically means that Russia effectively owns the company, and receives a portion of whatever profits this game would make.
No one's suggesting that the developers of Atomic Heart support the war effort in Ukraine, but because they haven't made a statement about it, we can't know one way or another. How could they, though, when dissenters are silenced? Either way, supporting this game means likely supporting the Russian government, and that is what refraining from purchasing this game means to those who wish to not do so.
That's not the point of this thread though. I was just curious about how the war in Ukraine would affect whether the release date of this game.
This game looks like it could be great, and I would love to get my hands on it, however it is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. What's most important is that people's lives and homes are at risk here due to Putin's hubris and blood lust. One way or another, this attack on a sovereign nation needs to stop.
