How do I use the F-45's "VCAP" feature?
From what I understand so far, it stand for "Vertical Control Autopilot" and is a system for automated landings on things like helipads and even aircraft carriers. The throttle controls the engine's hover angle, while the joystick is skewed in ways I have yet to understand. After mucking around with it in Free Flight for about an hour, I can definitively say that I'm still very confused by how it's all supposed to work. How exactly does VCAP assist with landing for the F-45?

My understanding is that VCAP essentially automates vertical flight like so:

Throttle controls forward speed
Stick roll (left/right) controls side strafe
Rudder controls side turn
Stick pitch (up/down) controls ascent/descent.

In VCAP mode you no longer have direct control over your flight surfaces/throttle/engine tilt, instead you use the throttle and stick to tell the aircraft where to go and it does so by automatically controlling the engine tilt and lift fan cyclic (I think) at low speeds, and by the control surfaces at higher forward speeds.

Also it is supposed to set a "neutral" forward speed of 30 kts, to match with the speed of a moving aircraft carrier. So when centered at 50% you should be moving forward at 30kts. Which is helpful for landing on a moving target but doesn't really help for stationary landing areas.
