AH-94 Attack Helicopter - Can the Collective control be raised like the cyclic, and on the VTOL jets?
Dumb question from me time!

On the AH-94 Attack Helicopter, can the Collective control be raised like the cyclic, and on the VTOL jets?

I have the throttle/throttle lever/collective on the VTOL jets raised up so it doesn't clash with the arms on my chair. I was kinda hoping the same could be done on the AH-94, but I'm not seeing it.

Am I just missing it, or is that not available to adjust on that AH-94?

no, it cannot. have to adjust the seat.

Ah boo! Okay thank you the answer!

The in-game seat can be adjusted though :)

But then I can't see over the dashboard. :steamhappy:

I was kinda hoping that since all the other cockpits could have that adjusted up/down that I was overlooking something. Unfortunately the arms on the ol' chair are fixed. I guess though I can use a folding chair, etc. for when I want to fly the AH-94.

Thanks all!

What headset are you using? If it isn't inside-out tracking you might be able to play around it by recentering your view to where you can grab the collective and adjust the other controls to fit.
My cockpit chair is a recliner. It took a few adjustments but I was able to find a position that works. In the AH94 I reach down below my armrest to get the collective. It actually ended up being more comfortable in my case. I get to use both my armrests.

Quest 3 - For all the other planes, etc. I can move the controls around and make it work. But even with the sensor in the base of the controller the arm just blocks it enough on occasion to make it interesting. And by interesting I mean it tries to predict movement so you'll go either 0 throttle or 100% as it's "predicting" where it'll pick up your hand again based of current movement.

Although...you did give me an idea. I may end up "sitting up" to recenter so the cockpit is "higher" then mess with the in game seat height...I'll have to see if I can tweak that. But again, if not I have a pretty comfy chair that I use while playing board game that has no arms and should work I think. By using Airlink/VD/Steam link at least I'm not tethered and can move about the room.

Yeah you'll just need to play around with it. Hopefully you can find something that works well.
There's an option you can toggle to remember your seated position. Should minimize the amount of times you'll have to redo it if your chair stays stationary.

I removed the left arm of my chair for this very reason. Makes all the difference in the world and it's worth it. In my opinion and experience.

I was happy that the F-14...er...EF-24G allows you to raise the throttle (sweeeet). But it just made me kinda wish the AH-94 could be the same way. Ah well, small issue to contend with!

I thought about your post when I hopped into the EF-24G and was getting familiarized with the cockpit. lol.

This is good to know. I don't own the game yet, but was thinking of getting the game and the helicopter. I sit in a home-made 'cockpit' however that has two 'tables', not armrests (there is a real carseat in the middle). So you need to physically reach down in game to use the collective? I know that's realistic, but I guess it won't work for me then? It's the reason I got the Winwing collective on my Orion2 throttle base (for DCS helicopters), so it sits on the left table. A regular collective won't work in my setup.

Buy, don't even think twice.
The helicopter is amazing.

You'll come up with something later.

But how is it playable if you can't use the collective?

Well...so for me it would be using a different chair. I can "somewhat" get by by leaning more to the left so the inside out tracking sees the hand controller, but it's not optimal and if I shift too much to the center I can hit situations of full collective or zero collective, etc.

I have enough to mess with with the addition of the E-24G for now, but when it comes time to really play the AH-94 I'll probably just use a folding chair and then set the cyclic to be centered vice on the side.

I bought the game and just tried the first tutorials. I didn't realise that the jets also have a collective lever instead of a throttle? Or is this just the tutorial jet? How do you adjust this up? I realise that you apparently can't do it on the helicopter. It doesn't work at all with my sim chair with the platforms.

I do have a few different office chairs that I can use, but it would be preferable if I can stay in this one. I somehow managed to get it in the air by reaching in front and underneath my left table, but I can't keep it gripped at all.

I'm brand new to VR but bought it just to try DCS/IL2. I do see now why everyone thinks it's so cool in flight sims. Played for about 10mins and didn't puke too, which was a big worry for me.

It was very easy to start up with Steamlink too, and was very smooth in-game. I'm waiting for my link cable to arrive.
