LASER GUIDED BOMBS... How to use?
I have tried both designating targets in GPS and using the targetting pod... no joy.

Changing the targeting pod to " pip " seems to at least give me weapons release ability, yet I have no idea how to aquire a target.

In my experience, laser guided missiles should be using their internal seeker to track the host aircraft ( or in DCS friendly aircraft as well... hint hint nudge nudge developer ) to paint a target and release the weapon with said painted data...

Yet I have tried most of the avenues available to me and come up empty.

What am i doing wrong?

Point the targeting pod at the target. Once the target is in range, you can see a diamond move into the circle and you can drop the bomb.

Thank you, it ended up being the LGB's just didnt have the range I was expecting.

DCS the range is amazing and it doesnt matter how high you drop them from as long as you ( or your wingmate ) have a solid laser lock on the target.

The LGB's in this game have maybe 5nm of range? thats pathetic... almost not even worth using them.

I can find/target/set GPS targets with the targetting pod and fire GPB in the same method,... so whats the point of using LGB's?

Sad.

Laser-guided weapons are used to attack moving targets on the ground.
GPS-guided weapons can only attack stationary targets, since the GPS coordinate cannot move with the target.

Fair enough, but then I would absolutely need to be restricted to using laser guided bombs...

At this point, wing pylons carry AGM-69's, and the belly carries AIM-120's.

But ok, point taken.
