Overall I think the game is fun.

The blocking mechanic could be better though. It does not make sense that simply holding block means you are automatically blocking with the whole body. Rather I would like to see something like if you are holding down the block button then the character tries to block the incoming attack, raising the leg up against a low kick and blocking with the arms depending on which attack is coming, and if the player is doing a combo then you would have to press the block button for each incoming attack or you would get hit easier, something like this would be cool. Or holding the block button and pressing the punch/kick buttons to block, so block+punch would block a punch as an example. (or perhaps a high and low blocking system, so you would block high-mid or low-mid)

Dismemberment for this game I think is a bit annoying, well I don't really mind the head popping off since you don't use it to attack but losing the arm or leg can get annoying. I think it would be better if dismemberment counts as losing all your HP, well only if you lose the head (same as getting split in half). Losing the arms and legs I think is too much.

When you fall to the ground I think it takes a bit too long to get back up, think it would be more enjoyable if you could get back up quicker.

What I would like to see though would be more fighting styles to choose from, or being able to select which move from a particular fighting style you want to have on each button, so you could mix and match and kinda make your own fighting style.

Have you played the advanced tutorial? There is a perfect block mechanic, and the tutorial will teach you about that. Holding block won't get you far against a good player, because it won't take them long to deplete your block stamina. However, I do think there's an issue with the block mechanic in that the penalty for block spam is too mild, and you can perfect block very easily by holding block, releasing and blocking again. I think adding some additional challenge to the mechanic would be beneficial, but a high and low block system would be too much due to the speed of the attacks in the game and the fact you can switch to a different attack at any point during an animation. You also have to remember that the attacks are physics-based instead of of animation-based, so it's possible to perform a low kick and actually hit and deal damage with your lead hand as it moves forward, or to throw a punch and deal damage from your leg moving forward, and you could even hit with several body parts at once in some situations.

I agree that arm dismemberment is annoying, but it's not as bad now it only happens below 50 HP, and the other types of dismemberment (except for decaps) all kill you pretty quickly, anyway. You can turn dismemberment off by pressing esc and going to room settings, and most experienced players I've seen prefer to play without it.

The speed with which you get up is pretty variable and just dependant on your character's position and how the physics decide to work in that moment, but I don't personally find it too annoying even when it takes a while, because you still have something to do while you're down (perfect blocking your opponent's ground attacks) and I think it's good that it allows you to capitalise on a knockdown, because low health players regenerate pretty quickly and trying to eliminate them would be really annoying if you couldn't fully take advantage of their poor balance.

Custom move-sets is something I believe the developer is interested in, but it will probably be a feature for the sequel instead of this game, because he won't be able to update this game after the 1st of August due to changes to Google's policies that would require him to make the game 64-bit. However, even with the current 12 attacks, there's still a good amount of variety in the styles top players use, and you'll see this if you watch any of the pro league events on skutte oleg's youtube channel.

Yeah I know it has a perfect block mechanic but it is the whole body of the character. I mean it's fun as it is but I think it could be better, as I feel it is a bit too easy to block against attacks. What I was imagining was that the arms and legs would become the blocking area of the body instead of the whole body, and each time you hold block the arms and legs would try to move as to block the incoming attack, but as the other player is doing a combo you would have to press block again to realign the arms/legs to the correct position to block properly, otherwise they could hit parts of the body that are not blocking and do damage.

Oh I didn't know you could disable dismemberment, that's cool.

To me the annoying part about falling is that it takes long to get back up, I think it's cool that falling on the ground itself is based on the physics but I don't like to be on the ground as all I am doing at that point is pressing the block button when an attack is coming, it is not the fun part of the game to me. It would be cool if you could punch/kick while you are on the ground though, if that was possible I would probably like it more. Or even grapple the other player from the ground and get yourself up that way somehow, that could be cool.

Oh I see, custom move-sets would be awesome. Yeah I've noticed there's some variety you can do, but with custom move-sets you would have a lot more variety.
