Game crashing - report here
If your game is crashing, please report it here. This is if you've gotten into the game, and are either pottering around the main menu, or have started a game, and the game crashes.

Please indicate exactly the circumstances leading to the crash, and whether it reproduces from a save. If it does reproduce, if you can post a save that it reproduces from to a file hosting service (say, Google Drive, for instance) and link it here, that would be great. In any case, linking to a pastebin of your dxdiag may also help.

We'll be merging other threads here, or closing them, at our discretion. We want to keep this thread just for reports. No ranting, though you can mildly and politely express your displeasure as you report.

DO NOT download supposed fixes from untrusted websites

MP-specific crashes should go in the MP issues thread.

There are some ideas for things to try in another thread http://steamcommunity.com/app/65980/discussions/0/619569341080266527/

If you want some kind of official response from 2K, you need to contact 2K Support. While 2K/Firaxis may read things here, you have not officially contacted them by posting here.

To generate and post your dxdiag, do the following:

1. Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and press the letter R.
2. In the Run dialog that appears type "dxdiag" without the quotes in the text box and press Enter.
3. If you get a request asking to check if your drivers are digitally signed choose "Yes."
4. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool that appears, in the bottom-right click "Save All Information..."
5. On your Desktop, save "DxDiag.txt"
6. Double click DxDiag.txt on your Desktop to open it, press Control-A to select all, Control-C to copy.
7. Go to pastebin.com and click in the large empty text area, then press Control-V to paste
8. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "submit"
9. Copy the URL of the page you then end up on, and paste it into your post

I played a SP game at launch without problems for hours (Small map). On the next day I got random bluescreen crashes of my system while trying to play a regular game. Crashes occuring repetetively in turn 102-110. A new game crashed multiple times just after turn 3. I repeat: It not only crashes, I get bluescreens o.O The first ones since 2010.

I got a pretty decend rig with a Nvidia GPU. Now trying to turn down graphic settings.

Game crashes for not suppoting multi touch control on SurfacePro.
Just like Civ 5 dx 11 and dx9 executables. Where is the dx11 touch optimized executable?!?

As well the UI is too small for touch on tabletscreensizes.

Game froze after couple of hours at the end of AI turn. Happened only once, unsure of the reason.

Same here, the game just crashes after running it for a while. Like Longa said turning down leader animations to minimum seems to help but it still eventually crashes anyway. This isn't a requirements issue. recommended reqs are win7, quad core cpu, 4gb ram and nvidia gt400 series or better. I have win 7 ultimate, i7 extreme, 24 gb ram, 1.5TB free on a 3TB drive and nvidia gtx 480 1.5GB and the very latest drivers. I haven't had any crashing or stability issue with any other game except the latest patches of civilization 5 which shares the same engine as this game, and I have hundreds of games.

example this one happened simply when new research came up after about 30 turns (20 minutes).

I'm sure that the AI was causing me to crash. Everytime I initially made contact with them, the game would crash or shortly after. So I just kept playing until I meant every AI, and since then the game hasn't crash. I'm now on turn 225 and haven't had a problem.
