A.I. or A.S. (Artificial Stupidity)

Is it just me or does the AI suck in this game. My team mates have no concept of how to stay in cover while being shot at. I am constantly babysitting them by giving them move commands. I understand the squad management aspect of this game but when I put them in cover they just run off in 10 seconds anyway. This game had a lot of potential but failed to meet it. I will never preorder another game on steam because of this. Now I know why this game had very little gameplay footage before release. You can gift wrap a turd and make it look nice but its still a turd.

You HAVE to give them orders. That is the purpse of the game.
This is not Mass Effect where your squad mates are just there to look nice.

It gets better after you get more abilities but the AI is still inexcusably stupid. They break away from your ordered positions and peek out to shoot while under heavy fire both of which are things totally out of player control.

I gave them orders the whole damn game and they still wont stay where I tell them to. If I want them to say up on a platform while I run to flank the enemy, my squad stays for 10 seconds and runs off or follows me. You are making excuses foor poor programming, if you know what that looks like. If you are negatively comparing this game to the Mass Effect franchise, I doubt that you do. I'm not asking to play the game with one character. I mean ♥♥♥♥, it's not even possible to do that on the difficulty I play on. All Im saying is this game is garbage, however you look at it. My squad thinks running in front of the enemy while getting shot at by plasma rifles is safer than where I tell them shoot from. If I am missing some crucial command aspect of this game, it was not because I didn't read the manual.

Oh and hey what up Cats? That last comment was meant for the guy up top. I beat the game and what little accomplishment I feel is comparable to spending a friday night babysitting the neighbor kid. If I wasn't the cheap bastard I am, I would have written it off and uninstalled it half way through. Lesson learned on my part. Case closed
