The game doesn't start
I know people have had this problem aswell, but while searching for answers or fixes to the problem i haven't located any. If you can suggest how to fix the problem.
I have uninstalling and reinstalling with no change, I had tried what they recommend on the steam support page with no luck.

Hi all, I had a similar problem, I tried to install DX11 manually using the installer I found in the game directory. It failed. So I replaced the installation files with the ones officially provided by MS (http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/4/A/84A35BF1-DAFE-4AE8-82AF-AD2AE20B6B14/directx_Jun2010_redist.exe) then I installed them launching the installer and I run the game. This just worked to me, hope I fixed the issue. Also make sure you are using a video card different than Intel HD Graphics 3000 (I had to force the execution with the NVIDIA card on my laptop). Don't forget to install Win7 SP1 and latest video card driver if you still have the issue. Goog luck!

I was having the same problem and finally found the solution after 12 hours of none stop research. I tried to update every drive, i uninstalled everything and even reset my own computer. the problem is the windows that you use, you need to, use a legit copy of windows. The problem is somewhere in the BIOS, but you wont be able to fix it unless you have a Genue copy of windows, if you are having this problem and your using Windows downloaded from the internet, then install a legit copy of windows and problem solve, same thing will happend with XCOM Enemy Unknown, Deadpool and a couple of other games, goiod luck and I hope this help!

Legal license here, same issue. Reinstall SP1, drivers, DX11 and game. It will do the trick.

It was doing the same thing to me and I think I figured it out.

1. DO NOT TRY AND LAUNCH WITH THE Desktop SHORTCUT!
2. Go into Steam and click PLAY from the Steam Menu
(an option will come up to play the game, OR, play in DX11 mode.)
3. CLICK PLAY IN DX11 mode.

I went into the contents of the game file and found something called cider. I opened that and the game ran perfectly fine. But I have a MAC so I don't know if it exists for PCs.

Thank you Crazysychoninja3 it's working on my Macos 10.11. just a double click on cider
you need to choose the «the bureau» application in the: user/library/app support/steam/steam apps/common/The Bureau. right click on content and look for cider

Doesn't work here either. I'll check that out!

- checked it out, different issue to this thread. I just had to verify files to get it to start on Windows 10.

After I finally got the game to start, it crashed in the tutorial due to having both PhysX options enabled. Disabling one allowed me to continue.

The QA team on this game were hopefully fired a long time ago.

2017 on OSX / macOS Sierra (10.12), same problem as above, works if you go into the application bundle 'Contents/MacOS/' and launch the 'cider' file by double-clicking on it ...

I do not speak german sorry, but I tried to repair the local files, as I guess you are recommanding from the video you linked to, but it did not work for me ...

Same here. It said that the game cache was 100% ok, but still it downloaded 17 MB and now the game works. :steamhappy: TheBureau.exe was updated on my PC.
