what order do I play the collection in

As the title says I would like to know what order to play the games in... I took out the space sim as I am not into space shooters. I do know that enemy unknown is obviously last but I had that anyway.

if your playing for story and time placement
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
Xcom: Enemy Unknown or X-COM: UFO Defense (there both in the same time period but Ufo Defence is a war game while enemy unknow is a tactial squad game)
then X-COM: Enforcer (Takes place same time as enemy unknown but strictly in america)
X-COM: Terror from the Deep (Secound alien war)
X-COM: Apocalypse (third alien war)
X-COM: Interceptor (first alien space war)


If playing by when they were released
X-COM: UFO Defense
X-COM: Terror from the Deep
X-COM: Apocalypse
X-COM: Interceptor
X-COM: Enforcer
XCOM: Enemy Unknown

The other, equally valid, answer is "whatever order you feel like". There's not really much of a storyline beyond the synopsis of each game in the store on the classic entries, so you can't really encounter anything in the way of spoilers.

I think they said XCom 2 takes place in an alternate universe where humanity was taken over in XCom: Enemy Unknown.

Is there any point in playing XCOM 2 or would that be a waste of money? Same with Enemy Unknown as I have UFO defense
