Although I would defend ones right to free speech the negative views are really no more than pure speculation. I love to flame games and companies as much as anyone but I at least do it on /v/ or some other place. It would be nice for once to see a Steam forum where people actually discuss the game properly (negative or posative) rather than "this is gunna suxzor"

Perhaps you are unaware that both videos of gameplay and developer interviews have been released. That seems somewhat more robust than "pure speculation".

Yeah. The videos are out, and some reviews have been leaked. It's not really speculation at this point. If someone thinks the game will be a turd, who cares? Chances are they'll pick it up 3 or 4 years down the line in a summer/winter sale for $5, they might like it, or they might find they were right.

Making MORE threads about the inane stuff is just filling up the board with a bunch of junk that perspective buyers may be browsing.

I've seen the gameplay videos, and frankly... I don't see the "bad" that people are talking about. I think "the bad" is coming from people who take it as a personal insult that anything with the XCOM name on it isn't a turn based strategy game.

I know these kinds of people. Some of them are what I consider "my friends." And the reality is that these guys have zero knowledge or theory about anything that does not exist inside their comfort bubble.

The game may be a stinker. I'll find out in 2 hours. But it will be on my terms for my reasons that I think that. Or... I might end up loving it. Again, it will be for my reasons and on my terms.

I like to buy games after reviews come out. I already have the preorder bonus games, so I have nothing to lose by waiting for those review.

When it's been 10 years since the game release and people still think the game is not good, commonly it's the game fault. You can actually check on Internet and see that the game was changed from their original plans. As for me, I like the characters and the plot, but can't enjoy the gameplay.

I actually really liked the gameplay, I thought it was super well done, not only but in fact is better than Mass Effect. It's the same kind of cover mechanic 3 person OtS 3rd person tactical, but feels much smoother and plays better. They just didn't add any kind of RPG or other mechanics. But the combat itself is better than Mass Effect. Also I forget how long those sites have been cancers on the internet.
